    Midway Arcade Origins- Backwards Compatible - Game not launching 11/3/2018


    I purchased the game through the store on my Xbox One. Installed it. Tried to launch it and am unable to play it. I get the screen asking if I own the game. Yes, I do. No I don't have a disc. I purchased digitally.

    I tried every option in xbox assist. I uninstalled it and reinstalled. nothing.

    I then spent 30 mins on the phone with xbox support. The guy on the phone had me clearing my MAC address, deleting my profile-> adding then signing in on my profile, Hard reset, and then eventually resetting my console and then uninstalling/reinstalling
    the game. nothing.

    Decided to get a refund. The option does not exist for this game.

    Any ideas?

    Unfortunately, Midway Arcade Treasures is not backwards compatible with the Xbox 360 console.

    Is it still possible for Microsoft to make xbox original games backwards compatible?

    There are still good games that are not compatible on the xbox 360, and I was wondering if microsoft will make more updates to make more games backwards compatible with the 360. If not is there a way to get microsoft to make updates on games. Some of the
    games I would like updates on is the Midway Arcade Treasures, more specifically Midway Arcade Treasures 2. If microsoft still wont do an update tan netherrealm should do hd ports of these games.

    Hi,

    Games are usually delisted when either the digital rights expire or the company that published the game goes bust. Gauntlet Xbox 360 arcade was delisted because Midway games filed for bankruptcy in 2010.

    However, Gauntlet and selection of other classic Midway arcade games is available on Midway Arcade Origins. These are ports of the arcade originals though. This collection is compatible with the Xbox One and Series X|S consoles.
