midnight game releases

i could be in for a long night so i went onto to the store to buy metro its released today in uk should it be on from midnight or will it be added the next day (iknow its gone midnight now it wasnt when i started this post) but it aint on yet

since this thread was made, i got a question myself.

will new releases be available at midnight for downloads? because id rather download the game when it hits midnight rather than go stand in line at midnight release like ive been doing for cod , madden games etc..

I don't go to Call of Duty midnight releases, I don't get excited for them anymore. I did go to the Dead Space 2 midnight release and we could play the game. That was pretty fun.

 

Might have to wait until 12 am PST. So in about 7.5 hours

 

o well will just have to listen gf moaning every 7 mins

 

if the store is open 24hrs they by law should sell it to you, as it is the actual day of release

 

It appeared at about 12.30am in the UK. I've just about finished downloading both games now.

I don't think you can say "by law" and follow that with "should". Also, most retailers reserve the right to withhold service from people. They don't have to sell you anything.

 

I was elated when I heard that games could be pre-downloaded and played at midnight on the day of release. However, that's 12:00 AM PST. For people like me who live on the east coast, it doesn't really benefit me. If I pre-download, I'll still have to wait
to play the game at 3:00 AM. I could just buy it at a Game Stop at 12:00 AM.

If its alright for Game Stop to sell it at 12:00, how come I have to wait?

Xbox Live knows where I'm connecting from.

 

Maybe it is just MS' way of being safe? I'm assuming people could change their location in order to play the game earlier than midnight? I don't know the exact reason.

Either way, I'm going to be sleeping at midnight, so it doesn't actually bother me if it were 12 AM or 3 AM.

 

It's a North America problem between east and west coast.

I usualy got new digital releases at midnight in my country.Only indies got random release schedules.

I've seen posts like this from other people, assuming it's because people could change their location to get the game earlier. Thing is, they can determine your location easily
enough. Anytime I played Titanfall, it automatically chose the east coast servers for my default connection since I live on the east coast. True enough that my location setting may have been used to determine that, but it really isn't necessary. IP address
and ping numbers could easily determine someone's location and direct them to the appropriate server... at the appropriate time.

 

this is why I hate the xbox store they have no good info , psn has ps blog and it rocks we know at least 4 days ahead of the release day for games and there prices and time of release . on the x1 games just show up whenever like that zombie driver game or
they go around saying 1001 spikes NA release but that's a lie it was a US release it was not brought to Canada so how about having a Xbox blog that informs us of the games releasing in the next week and at what time .
