Microsoft's pre ordering system?

Like the other folks said, if you use prepaid gift cards you are charged immediately, but PayPal and credit cards don't charge until shortly before launch. This messed me up when I preordered the xbox one x.

i paid with Microsoft account balance and they did Not take the balance, i pre ordered a month ago...

Hey if you paid with microsoft account blance in full then the payment would be taken right away when you preordered. If you spilt the payment over 2 methords or paid on a card then you are charged 10 days before the release of the game.

Its the same has going into a local game store like gamestop and preordering you dont pay for something you dont have you pay when you collect or they ship the game. You could look at it from the other view and say why should i pay for something i cant play
or have for 3 months
