Hmm "Microsoft's biggest surprise ever" obviously sounds like it should be something huge but E3 hype rarely lives up to expectation.

I'll get up early (on at 5am here in NZ) like I do every year and watch but I refuse to get hyped over this. If they bring a heap of great games then I'll be happy. Content is king!!!!

this just sounds like PR hype, because about the only thing i think i would be shocked about, is if Mister X Media (or whatever his name is) turned out to be right.

 

I'm just going to wait & see. When's E3 this year?

 

Hahaha yeah imagine if that came true. I'd be pretty blown away but its never going to happen.

An Xbox One with twice as much power, and will sell for $600.

I'd buy it.

 

I had a crazy dream last night about Xbox announcing Xbox Blue, which was this revolutionary online service that was this inter-connected web of games and services... and then it turned into Watchdogs and I had this crazy shootout with PS4 fans... yeah...
but the first part was really cool, I was annoyed when I woke up and it didn't exist. It would take paragraphs to explain what it could do.

the guy is insane... and you can really believe ANYTHING he says... but he is a good read if tyaken with a SPOONFULL of salt...

Livewall? lol Interesting, but surely impossible.

 

And that the X1 has a stacked die that makes the X1 a lot more powerful than the PS4, but they are keeping it a secret and crazy stuff like that, keeps talking with 'insiders' that say MS is going to blow everyone away at E3.

Still 3 months to E3, I just want to see more game innovations.

 

Although, that soft launch theory of his does pretty much check all the boxes in terms of adding up the dates and shortcomings. If we are being open minded I mean.

 

Surround sound through the controller / adapter? <-- fix the stuff everyone was expecting first. It's hurting their hardware licensees too, since a lot of people might decide to not buy the 'officially' licensed XB1 third party headsets for that kind of
money and no extra features.

For the record, *I* can tell the difference between 'virtual' surround and stereo in my games, even with only a pair of stereo speakers. Dolby had this figured out years ago. Basically, MS is forcing you to spend money on the headsets with some sort of DD->virtual
surround box that connects to the optical port (basically, anything that worked with a 360 / PS3 for surround sound) to get surround sound now. If the audio hardware and software on the XB1 is really all that they claim, why not have a setting to toggle 'high
quality' stereo or 'Dolby Surround' modes? (Evidently they originally led their partners to think this was the case, based on listed features for all of the preorder headsets).

Sorry for the sort of off-topic. I just get annoyed at 'big' announcements that are for 'new' stuff, whenever the stuff we have isn't really all there yet.

 

Didn't some MS rep say that the XO is built to last 10 years?
