Microsoft’s $10 Gift Card Promotion for Refering Friends With Gold

I have took pictures of the promotion that said if you go gold you will receive a $10 xbox gift card. I bought it through my debit card. I didn't use a prepaid card.

Is it a gift card or a Live card?

so everytime i log in to xbox i never get a gift card from xbox but my brothers account always does

It could be a promotional thing, and your brother very rarely signs in and when he does, he has met the requirements for the promotions and get the gift card, or its just a randomized gift and he has been very lucky.
