Hello!

There was a controller with & without a 3.5mm jack. Many headsets used to come with adapters to provide an jack to plug the headset into. you may want to look into those adapters. Also some of the newer wireless headsets will connect directly to the console
itself, so you might not even need the 3.5 mm jack.

Have a look online, at reviews of the older and newer controllers, and then identify the one you own.

Hi there,

The older controllers had different technology, which was remedied for compatibility with new headsets a few years later, with an adapter. Personally, I much prefer the old style to the newer! Some things feel strange, like having to press the guide button
a little harder, and the connection randomly dropping off, which I never had issues with before.

I am unsure if Microsoft stock the adapters anymore, so you may have to look into reputable sites like eBay or Amazon, or brick and mortar stores in your area.
