microsoft xbox movies app

hello folks

when I play FULL HD MOVIE on TV via DLNA video quality remains. when I play it via XBOX movie app( recently I bought DENON 1400H but when DLNA movie is played in TV i don't receive sound despite SONY support ensured me that sound is being sent via HDMI/ARC
) so as workaround I use xbox playing movie via DLNA but somehow it looks like that video quality is worse when this is done by TV. any ideas whats happening? source of the video file is the same but TV really plays full hd picture but XBOX seems not to...

check where? in HDMI port setup for xbox?

Check to see if Xbox is set to “auto detect” it defaults to 720p. Change it to “manual” & then you can set it to whatever you want. Hope this helps ya

I use plex now. and it seems I hear now sound on all files played via dlna . your app was able to play most of them with sound but there were some where it failed. i still have impression even via plex that when TV streams it image is better when xbox
or plex does streaming.

If your using Xbox movie app:

Note Unlike a movie that you buy, you must view a movie that you rent on the device you rented it for (for example, the Xbox 360 console, a computer, or a Windows Phone)

However I know Microsoft allowes you watch rented movies via a app called Movie Anywhere. If you purchase a movie on your account and if was produce by a movie studio they team up with>>>you can watch your rented movies there. I used this app in the past
