Microsoft won’t refund me

Hi there,

I would contact Xbox Support over the phone, so they can go through the transactions with you. As this is a large sum of money, this has to be looked into carefully.

Please have to hand, as much transaction information as possible. Your orders/transactions can be found at: https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders and you will
also get receipts via email, using the address associated with your Xbox Gamertag.

You can arrange a callback, here, within operating hours, by filling in the simple form, and choosing a query in the 'Account' section:

Sorry to hear that you're dealing with this issue trying to get a refund. If you are interested, the previously posted link by @steeledwand would be the best way for you to try and get one.

After submitting the request, you’ll be sent an email on whether or not it was approved or denied.


This followupemail you will receive is the only means to get in contact with the refund
department directly and will be the only means of you disputing the verdict as well.

i recently wanted to buy some gold bars for RDR2 online, i have a linked Paypal account. When i made the original purchase i had no confirmation. So thought the transaction had not gone through. I then did it 2 more times spending nearly £300. Microsoft
now will not re fund 2 of the mistake transactions.

The reason they wont refund you is because MS hardly makes any money at all off of in game currency purchases (such as gold bars in RDR2). Most of that money goes to the developer (Rockstar in this case) and Microsoft has no way to get that money back (Rockstar
wont give it back to Microsoft) and has no way of seeing that it hasnt been spent in game yet. As such in game currency purchases are ineligible for refunds which is likely why the requests got denied.

WORST CASE SCENARIO, and I say worst case meaning it... you may need to contact Accounts and Billing and see if they can help you. DO NOT try doing that first!!!
