    Microsoft won't refund me

Bought GTA 5 on xbox one finally last week after waiting for the price to drop since it has been out for a long time already. I already purchased gta 5 on xbox 360 so i wanted to upgrade. I did, for $59.99 and now the price has dropped to $40.18 and I can't
get a refund. Loyal member for over 8 years and they won't refund the difference. Smh....

    :)

same as any retailer, you buy a product and then a day later or even a week later and it drops in price, just unfortunate really, nothing can really be done, some stores do refund the difference if it was an expensive item but even then it is still down
    to the retailer.

You've been a member for 8 years,so what? Doesn't mean you get special treatment.

As Farscape said, that's they way things are.

I bought a game last year then next month it was free in games with gold.I've been on live for 12 years but did I expect a refund? Of course not,

Farscape is actually wrong. Most retailers do offer post-purchase price matching.

Toys 'R Us, Best Buy, Walmart, Kmart, Target, Fry's Electronics, Costco, Home Depot, Staples, Office Depot, Sears (along with a slew of clothing retailers) have some form of post-purchase price matching policy.

Even Amazon offers the same kind of "price protection" with a seven day price adjustment policy on items not sold by third-parties.

It is not Microsoft's responsibility to give you a refund because you purchased something before it went on sale or was on clearance. That is not how business works. People amaze me with this crap.

What amazes me is how some of you treat others on the forums and are allowed to keep those laurels. The majority of retailers that have price matching also have price protection a for a few weeks after the sell. Maybe a small bit of research prior to mocking
the OP would have prevented you from making yourselves look silly. While it is not MS' responsibility to offer such protection it is very much the way business works for many of their competitors so it was not unreasonable for the OP to inquire about MS' policies.
To the OP if you paid with a credit/debit card you may want to check to see if it has price protection on it. Some of credit companies and banks offer price protection as a part of their service and will refund the difference if items you bought go on sale
shortly after your purchase whether MS does or not.

Haven't made myself look silly at all.

We don't even have the majority of stores listed above in my country.

Plus that says to me only SOME retailers have that policy, not MOST retailers.

    Most retailers do not.

Once you've actually been around the forums a while you'll understand why long term forums regs like Jasp & myself are sick of people whining & expecting something for nothing, especially the ones who think they are owed something by Microsoft just because
they have been on live for a certain amount of time.

  14. What amazes me is how some of you treat others on the forums and are allowed to keep those laurels.

What amazes me is how little attention some people will pay to what is actually going on before they post.

The majority of retailers that have price matching also have price protection a for a few weeks after the sell.

Irrelevant, it may be a common practice, but it certainly is not required.

Maybe a small bit of research prior to mocking the OP would have prevented you from making yourselves look silly. While it is not MS' responsibility to offer such protection it is very much the way business works for
many of their competitors so it was not unreasonable for the OP to inquire about MS' policies.

Maybe a small bit of the aforementioned paying of attention would have prevented you from making yourself look silly. It's abundantly obvious that OP has already inquired about
MS's refund policy... and gotten an answer s/he didn't like. While it is certainly not unreasonable to inquire about MS's policies, OP's post is in no way, shape or form, an 'inquiry'. It is nothing more than a 'shame on you MS, for not changing your policy
    for me' statement.

I've seen people in this thread be both courteous and helpful to users of this forum who have inquiries. People who complain for the sake of complaining... not so much.

To the OP if you paid with a credit/debit card you may want to check to see if it has price protection on it. Some of credit companies and banks offer price protection as a part of their service and will refund the
difference if items you bought go on sale shortly after your purchase whether MS does or not.

I'd be willing to bet this suggestion would have already been made by someone... if OP had considered a more appropriate way of 'inquiring' about other options.

"What amazes me is how little attention some people will pay to what is actually going on before they post."

As evidenced by your reply. Your pretentiousness seems to be impeding your comprehension.

"Irrelevant, it may be a common practice, but it certainly is not required."

The direction in which the topic being discussed is irrelevant? LOL!

"Maybe a small bit of the aforementioned paying of attention would have prevented you from making yourself look silly. It's abundantly obvious that OP has already inquired about MS's refund policy... and gotten an answer s/he didn't like. While it is certainly
not unreasonable to inquire about MS's policies, OP's post is in no way, shape or form, an 'inquiry'. It is nothing more than a 'shame on you MS, for not changing your policy for me' statement."

Again, maybe you should heed some of your own meanderings. IF -big two letter word there- you had read the post you are quoting, it is clear that the initial portion of the comment was directed toward those discussing whether price protection is or "is not
how business works" so you spent your time making an irrelevant rant.

"I've seen people in this thread be both courteous and helpful to users of this forum who have inquiries. People who complain for the sake of complaining... not so much."

And that "not so much" is often a violation of the ToS and CoC.

"I'd be willing to bet this suggestion would have already been made by someone... if OP had considered a more appropriate way of 'inquiring' about other options."

As you stated earlier, the OP did not inquire about anything in this post -nor did I infer that he was, that was your presumption as I was clearly addressing others and not the OP. That was merely my suggestion to the OP as a possible resolve to a situation
    he apparently finds unacceptable.
