Microsoft Wireless Display adaptor V2

I have a MWDA that worked well but hasn't been used for a while. I used it with a projector today and it won't connect. It has the Microsoft logo and moving dots that look like the device is searching but it never makes any progress. As a side note when it does say ready to connect there is no name assigned to the adapter.

I have another device that is the same and it works without issues. This device is assigned MSDisplayApaptor_6 and can be found by my pc.

The device with the problem was originally designated as device 1 but it no longer has that.

Any help much appreciated.

:)

Random Disconnects and lagging out of Xbox Live Party Chat

Hi again Grenade,

Are you using a wireless N (black with 2 aerials) or wireless G (grey with one aerial) adaptor? Also was it displaying a solid red light or was it a flashing red light? (these mean different things)

Could you try and connect the wireless adaptor to a USB port in the front of your console and see if that works?

Also make sure WPS (wifi protected setup) is turned off on your Cisco modem/router and is set to manual.

Xbox One Wireless Controller

Hi,

You can use a standard Bluetooth adaptor. The Microsoft wireless adaptor for Xbox One/Series X|S controllers doesn't use Bluetooth.

If you want standard connectivity then you can use a BT USB dongle (or built in BT if your device has this). The Microsoft adaptor offers more features such as the use of more than one controller, and the usage of your controller's headphone socket while wireless.

~Connection problem~
I've had my adapter for a few years and its served me well, but i'm having a problem connecting now that i'm at a new place. When my adapter is plugged in, (G adapter) it has a solid red light. When I try to find networks, I get the message "To use a wireless
Internet connection, connect an Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter to your console" When it should be displaying the available networks. How can I get the console to recognize the adapter when it already has all these years?
Refer to: http://support.xbox.com/en-GB/xbox-360/accessories/wireless-g-network-adapter

• A solid red light
• Black with two aerials (wireless N adaptor): The adaptor is not recognised. Try plugging the adaptor into a USB port on the front of your console.
• Grey with one aerial (wireless G adaptor): The adaptor is ready for the next step: Configure and test your connection.
In this case, the adapter may be broken. I'd suggest contacting support if no troubleshooting works out.
