Microsoft why are you doing this with Xbox Originals on Xbox 360 again

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I didn't think of that either but it would be true - all this unnecessary ridiculous hysteria about the Caronavirus does mean alot of people are stuck at home with nothing to do. Here in Australia we're virtually in a state of
martial law now because of our stupid government and people just acting like idiots. Hopefully this'll all be over soon. Best of luck too Xbox.

It's very highly likely not a problem on your end. It's an issue on Xbox's end. There are many, many posts about this issue with downloads not working, or getting to a certain percentage and then just stopping, right now. This is (in my opinion) due to
so many people staying home right now and overwhelming the Xbox servers and services. Xbox has been having problems with several different core services being up and down and not working properly for the last 1-2 weeks, and it's still ongoing as they try to
deal with the high number of users on Xbox right now, as work places and schools are closed. So just rest assured, it's not just you. And it's not anything you may be able to fix. Just keep trying, and hopefully this problem will be fixed very soon and downloads
will work normally for everyone again.

If they dont work on your 360, you most likely do not have an official Microsoft harddrive. Same reason why I cant play my original Xbox games. Really want to play Splinter Cell Chaos Theory again!

This is only speculation on my part, so you should take it as such, but this is what I think.

When Microsoft changed from the original Xbox to the Xbox 360, they practically abandoned support for the original Xbox right away. This alienated many people who wanted to continue to play the original Xbox. This was a big mistake on their part, and they
know it. I don't believe they want to repeat that same mistake again, which is why they have just released a redesign Xbox 360 console, as well as a continued games line-up for the Xbox 360. I think the Xbox 360 will continue for a while after the Xbox One's
release. How long that is, remains to be seen.

This is one thing I do know for sure. If you did buy an Xbox 360 now and Microsoft chose to stop supporting it in the near future, they still have to honour any warranties and agreements they may have with it.

It's an original Xbox, not an Xbox 360. I don't believe Microsoft repairs the original consoles anymore, so that's why he can't send it in for repairs.
