  1. Microsoft Warranty Paper Thin!!

Buyer beware: Xbox warranty service is hardly worth the paper it's written on. Warranty on equipment means: you mailing faulty product to a third party service center in Texas and waiting the 14-21 days for their diagnosis. After receiving
my console back, system still does NOT function. I haven't had a working system for over a month now! Lots of time spent on phone and absolutely NO satisfaction, even through a rather rude supervisor. Just saying, product might be good, but warranty and service
is awful! I'm NOT a satisfied or happy customer of Microsoft. Will likely never buy anything Microsoft again!

    Microsoft Warranty Paper Thin!!

Sorry about your luck. Sent mine off and it did take 25 days to get it back. It did work fine after I got it. Maybe you just got a bad one out of the bunch.

  5. This is an area that MS needs to work on ThroughPoet6484. I know a few people that had problems like that with the 360. Sent them in and received a non working unit back. And they were different than the one that was sent in. They need to test and make
sure these things are working. To their credit they may be testing and they are somehow getting messed again during shipping but that would indicate a problem that should definitely be fixed as well.

And I understand your being upset. I had this issue a few times on other products I have had to send it. Send the item in for warranty repair and they send back a broken unit. Once I had a device sent back and then they would not even repair it again.
But MS has been good so far.

  6. So disappointed with Microsoft customer service...followed Microsoft technician's troubleshooting instructions to a "T", who had come to the conclusion that console was defective-NOT the power supply, which is what I had thought was the problem. Four weeks
after returning console for repair, console's memory wiped clean, console was returned with a computer print-out stating that it was working just fine. The instructions for warranty service were specific to NOT include the power supply or any other wired connections.

After console was returned, I ordered a new power supply from Amazon, just to be sure that was not the problem. Turns out, my Microsoft power supply was defective. This is when I called the customer support (again) and requested a supervisor who had some
authority...bottom line was I was requesting that Microsoft send me a replacement power supply so that I did not have to be without a working unit for several more weeks. Supervisor I spoke to was NOT helpful at all. In fact, he was rude and condescending!
I was willing to pay the postage to return the now obvious defective power supply to them. But, NOT wanting (or willing) to wait for Microsoft's third party service center repair to replace it. I was considering the possibility of returning the power supply
supply I had just purchased from Amazon.

After my customer service treatment from Microsoft, I concluded that I did not need the stress and did not want to support this business. I have sold my Xbox on Craigslist and will NOT be purchasing any further Microsoft products, as long as other options
exist. Yea, I hold a grudge!

Lesson to be learned: (I had bought the unit at Best Buy, without an extended warranty, and it quit working working four months later.)

-Purchase of an in-store extended warranty (such as available from Best Buy) probably worthwhile for any Microsoft product, since Microsoft warranty repair is not customer oriented or satisfying.

-Original purchase at Costco would have likely allowed me to return or exchange the entire unit, also.

Final Note: I understand that Microsoft is a large business and needs to make a profit. That being said, Microsoft has lost my business forever, when it would have been so easy for this company to keep a customer satisfied. I was nothing but polite and patient
during this process, but received no satisfaction of any sort from the supervisory level of customer support at Microsoft.
