  1. Microsoft USB 360 Controller Problems

I have a 360 controller wired connected to play games on my computer. For a few months, everything's been fine, but now something is acting up. Randomly when I am playing a game the controller just stops working. The light is still on but the buttons
become unresponsive, even when replugging the device. My laptop says that Windows is not recognizing the device because the device might be malfunctioning. This has happened about three times in the past hour today and it has become very frustrating. Anything
I can/should do to fix this?

    :)

Mortal Kombat game acts like I have never played before, can not get costumes, characters etc

I just unplugged the USB controller and restarted the XBOX 360. I do not use that controller anymore and have not had any more problems with it.

  3. Xbox One controller - PC issues

No problems here with USB 3.0. Only game I had an issue with was Skyrim until I realised that my wired 360 controller was still plugged in. Removed the this controller and the game started to use the One controller straight away. Microsoft USB 360 Controller Problems :)

    wired xbox 360 controllers

Okay. Here's a list of what I did to try and trouble-shoot the issue.

1 - Turned off and unplugged XBOX 360. Plugged in 3 Microsoft brand wired controllers into USB ports on the back. Plugged in XBOX 360 and powered on. All 3 controllers show Player 1. Unplugged each controller individually at the in-line release/breakaway
connector and reconnected. No change. Each still shows Player 1.

2 - Turned off and unplugged XBOX 360. Plugged in 1 Microsoft brand wireless controller into USB port on front (I know it's a wireless controller but this one is used and the rechargeable battery is completely dead and won't hold a charge.). Plugged in
3 Microsoft brand wired controllers into USB ports on the back. Plugged in XBOX 360 and powered on. All 3 regular wired controllers show Player 1. Wireless controller that's plugged into a USB port shows as Player 2.

    Thanks.

Xbox 360 controller not working with Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

These are official Xbox controllers and should work with Xbox Cloud. As the other respondent pointed out though, you cant connect a 360 wireless controller via USB, even though it is recognised as a USB device.

As many people will have old 360 controllers, and Microsoft are pushing Xbox Cloud, it would have been helpful if Microsoft put this in the controller FAQ.

    Regards,

    Kevin.

Troubleshoot the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows

Please try not using the USB hub and use a direct USB to USB to your PC for the xbox one controller.

Otherwise, the warranty for the xbox one controller does not cover accidental damage. You will have to buy a new one if there's a problem here.

As for the xbox 360 controller, the play and charge kit does not make it a USB controller, that device only transfers power, not data - even though it shows up on device manager. You will need the Xbox 360 wireless receiver for windows for that to work,
or a purely wired xbox 360 controller.

As for the USB hub having issues, please uninstall it from the device manager and reboot and see if it gets the drivers reinstalled.

XBOX One controller disconnecting randomly while plugged in wired

Hi, my name is Fernando and I am an independent consultant for Microsoft products.

It can be a bad connection between the controller and the USB cable...

    - Check if the micro USB connector in your controller have any dust or damage

    - Change the USB cable

If the issue persist I recommend you take your controller to a trusted technical assistance and check if there's any problem with the controller.
