What fixed it was installing Xbox on the PC. Not Xbox game bar but just plain Xbox. It is like the Microsoft Store but for games mostly. It recognized that I needed to update Microsoft Flight Sim but would not do it. I clicked on the update for Microsoft Flight Sim and nothing would happen. But then I went back to Microsoft Store and it recognized I needed to update MSFS and did it. Problem solved.

Microsoft updates aren't just for firmware -today on the 360 microsoft can't even update the firmware and haven't been able too for some time. Fanatec can update their firmware and hopefully will for the xbox one. It will still require an update from microsoft
to be compatible on the xbox one. Microsoft use proprietary technology to connect to their system and Fanatec can not utilize this into their product without the rights from micrsoft. The microsoft update will allow the xbox one to reconise the Fantec hardware
and the Fanatec firmware will allow the hardware to run on the xbox one. That’s the simple explanation. If you’re into programming and electronics I could elaborate further although it may be removed from this forum

Since it's HBO Microsoft / Xbox cannot update it. It's up to the Developer of the app to update it Microsoft has no control over the app.
