Microsoft update damaged my hard drive/ anyone else?

i turned my xbox one on and an automatic update started. the update then went to an error code E200 000000ef 00000000. all the troubleshooting for this didn't work and wouldn't have ever worked. the problem is that my xbox was
damaged because of the update/process. everyone with a xbox with an internet connection can have the same thing happen. it doesn't matter what you do or don't do. if you get an update and it fails you're going to have big problems. if the
troubleshooting does not work don't plan for the xbox console to ever work again. its bricked. if this happens to you
make sure to let microsoft know about it. upvote this discussion.
let me know if you have this same issue. let me know if your xbox gets fixed or if you had to replace it, and any other outcomes that i haven't discussed. of course microsoft already knew about this issue but wont help pay for the damage their
update caused. some state laws may be on your side. in my case the law is on my side. this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. even if microsoft paid the $135 for repair or replacement i would still just be waiting for the next update to damage
my console. and if Microsoft does pay for their mistake, after i get the thing running im never connecting the console to the internet to avoid any of Microsoft's defective update/process.

ive played within the rules. i dont cheap, mod, or any other unauthorized activities. my xbox was in almost perfect condition. only being a year and 3 months old it should be. i used it reasonable and how it was made to be used. when microsoft sent the
update i didn't have any control of what the situation. i had it plugged in right. i didnt turn off any power. i didnt turn off the internet.
there wasnt anything i did or didnt do that lead to my xbox console being damaged by the update/process.

Well, I suppose it is logical, considering that the Xbox is a Microsoft product. Hard drives for Xbox consoles must be very similar with computer hard drives. Thanks for the tip. I was actually thinking of updating my Xbox drive next month...

 

Xbox originals games come up with "the game couldn't start. try downloading again"

The error occurs because the area of the hard drive where the backwards compatibility emulator is stored is damaged.

This can occur if you are using a non-Microsoft hard drive as well.

If you are using a Microsoft hard drive and you continue to receive this error, you should contact Microsoft support by phone to find out what your options are for replacing the hard drive.

 

I'm saying this more and more lately but I feel another slap has been delivered.

 

I haven't had this issue. I have the Day One Xbox 1 Edition with Kinect console (500GB). It seriously tho feels like Microsoft is spamming us with updates, for Xbox, for Windows 10. We get at least one update EVERY month. 21st century technology is so crappy
it needs updating, regularly, lol.

 

I have the same issue, now what, nice paper weight. Sucks, really sucks.
