MS, countdown to E3 has started.

Microsoft has been attending the Electronic Entertainment Expo video game-based trade show, better known as E3, since it started in the mid-1990s.

This year's E3 will
officially be held on June 11-13 in Los Angeles but typically Microsoft holds a pre-E3 press conference in LA the day before the trade show officially starts.

Today, the Major Nelson website, run by Microsoft's Larry Hryb, did something that it has never done before.

It posted a countdown clock that will reach zero when E3 2013 begins. Hryb's only statement on the post was,
"And it’s on…"

You mean like last year when they tried to scare consumers away instead of enticing them? That's never been done. lol.

No, but seriously, I wonder what it could be. Possibly give some consoles away to people there or somehow "hook up" day one buyers.

 

I am thinking it will be some sort of viewer interaction. Not sure what I mean by that, but yeah.

 

My initial thought was consumer interaction. Perhaps instead of showing a pre-played demo they'll invite somebody from the audience to play it for them.

In slightly more far-fetched ideas; I'm hoping for something cool like everyone popping out of the floors and pyrotechnics, perhaps a short piece where Phil plays a guitar solo on top of a car.

 

Master Chief coming back to earth.....Nobody played Halo 4,or what ?

This would be creepy. Then it's revealed Phil Spencer is really a terminator. The more I think about it...the more I like the idea. ;-)

I would hope that gamers on XB1 would get access to the demos of their big exclusives. It would be them supporting US, the real gamers who will eventually buy their products instead of having all the horrible gaming press there who don't do much but type
words.

MS literally bringing E3 home.

Yeah, its far fetched, but never been done before. And if they really stood behind their devs & games they would let us try it.

 

Occulus Rift was at last years E3, I believe....plus it will be there this year probably and Sony is showcasing their VR headset as well.

From what I've read and heard....MS has no VR headset in the making.

If they do show a VR headset...it's one of the best kept secrets ever. Then again....why would you keep something like that a secret?

Heh... maybe he'll hold out his hand and tell everyone "Game with me on X1 if you want to live..."

 

So he's clarified this is only small side thing he'll be doing, not the Xbox platform, nothing mind-blowing it turns out.

i dont want demos because demos mean the dev takes there time away from the main game
