    Microsoft support doesn't care if you receive the wrong product


    I wanted to share my disappointing interactions with the xbox support team. I have been a longtime member of the xbox community. I frequently purchase movies and tv shows through my xbox console. Recently I went to purchase the first episode of Game of Thrones.
    After we started watching the show were found out it was the French version. I was not prompted to buy either French or English. In the past 3 months I had ordered 12 movies/tv shows all in English including 1 movie just 5 days earlier. There is no option
    to change to English nor any option to even use English subtitles. All my Microsoft account settings are set to English as well as my xbox console settings. All I want is to pay for a version of the show I can watch in a language I am fluent.

    I contacted xbox support within 24 hrs requesting a refund or exchange for the English version. I was sent a email back within 24 hrs letting me no I would not be receiving any refund and they were closing the file number. I then contact Microsoft support
    by phone. The person on the phone seems supportive but informs me they are powerless to do anything about it and I'd have to fill out the same online forms I already did because there is no phone number to call about xbox support. So I do this and be sure
    to be a bit more descriptive of the situation and clarify that I would really just like the English version. I receive another email back telling me that they will not be issuing a refund. So I call again and am now transferred to the xbox department technical
    support. He again seems like he understands what I'm looking for and tells me he is on it and things should be taken care of again. Since that conversation I have received zero contact back and am now stuck in no man's land with a French version of a show
    I can't understand and Microsoft seemingly doesn't care at all for the money I've spent as they already have it. I have no idea what to do now so I thought I'd post this and see how others have handled situations like this. It's incredibly frustrating.

    This has got to be the worst game server on the market

    Pathetic...will have to look for another vendor since Microsoft doesn't care about its product support

    Well, it doesn't matter to microsoft. Like any company, they don't care about customer support in regards to any chance of not gaining more money off of people who use their products.

    Hi, I'm sorry to hear this has been so frustrating for you, Digital purchases have strict refund policies which can also complicate things, Your only option would be to contact support again and see if you can get someone to investigate further. I know
    that's not a great answer but it sounds like you have tried various options with the same result. In the future I would triple check to make sure you're buying exactly what you want before clicking that buy button.

    What i really cant comprehend is that i don’t want a refund but just an exchange for the English version. Why is this so complicated? Why is it not both comman sense and good customer service pratice to do such a small thing like an exchange. I receive
    the exact same product. Its not in physical form so its not like i can then sell the french version. And because its digital it literally costs microsoft nothing to exhange it. They’ve probably spent more money in wage costs dealing with me then the product
    is even worth at this point.

    In this instance they are unable to just swap a movie. They would have to refund and then you get the correct one unfortunately.
