    I must warn all the users of Microsoft Community, DO NOT BUY FROM THE MICROSOFT STORE!

    I attempted to buy an Xbox Ultimate Pack from the store. They charged the wrong account under my PayPal, taking the money directly from my bank account. I cancelled the order, was told it was cancelled but it was not. I was shipped the item. I requested
    an RMA and got one. I sent the item back. I called to check the status of my refund after the item arrived back at the Microsoft Return Center. I was told I was already refunded the money two weeks ago. I did not receive the refund, nor did PayPal have any
    record of the refund. I made a told of 11 calls to the Microsoft Customer Service Line. I was put on hold indefinitely and hung up on twice. I never was rude, or raised my voice. I was told three times that I would be refunded the amount owed. When I checked
    back, I was told the refund had "failed" all three times. I still do not have my money back after two weeks of calls.

    Here is the email I sent to the customer service two days ago. I have yet to receive a reply from them.

    I have tried to get my refund from your company, but have not received said refund yet. Here is a breakdown of what I have gone through.



    I bought a Xbox One Ultimate Package on Dec 23,2013. I used PayPal/Bill Me Later. Microsoft took the money, $833.29, out of my PayPal checking instead. I requested a cancellation. I was given the case number, and assured the item was cancelled. The item
    was send to me anyway and all monies were taken out of my account. I was refunded a partial amount of $60.04.



    I returned the items, Return Reference Number:xxxxxxx, and tracked the return to your return center. The items arrived at the return center on 01/03/2014 (UPS Tracking #xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx).



    I have contacted the Microsoft Store phone number on 01/06/14 to verify the items had been returned and that I would receive a refund. I spoke with an associate, that hung up on me. I called back, I was put on hold for 30 min. I called back again, I asked
    for a supervisor. The supervisor, Alex, said my refund would be expedited and I should receive a refund by Wednesday 01/08/2014. He gave me a case number # xxxxxxxxxxx.



    I did not receive my refund. I called back on 01/08/2014. I spoke with Min, and she told me my refund had failed to go through. I escalated the call to supervisor Bryan. Bryan assured me that he would escalate this matter to the Microsoft Escalation Center
    and that I should receive my refund in 2-3 days. He gave me a case number #xxxxxxxxxxxx.



    I have made a total of 8 calls to the Microsoft Store Customer Service line. I do not believe that I will get a refund, as I have been told 3 times that the refund has been put through yet I have not received my refund. I keep getting told the refund is
    “failing” by your customer service reps.



    Please contact me and issue me my refund!

    Yikes, I hope everything gets fixed for you soon. I would be on them daily about this. If they don't give your refund soon, I would warn them that you'll report them to the BBB.

    Just to clarify, how did they take the money "out of wrong" account when you select what account to use online? I use PayPal all the time and it always gives me an option to select the payment method. In fact, with PayPal, unlike banks, companies don't charge
    them but rather PayPal initiates payments, that's why you always get redirected to PayPal to complete a sale.

    Not commenting on why a refund is taking so long, but the wrong charge was not Microsoft's fault, maybe PayPal messed up. I recommend contacting PayPal because whatever the case is, they can help.

    The PayPal is not the issue now. The fact that Microsoft is not issuing me a refund, after I returned the Xbox is the issue. If Microsoft does not issue the refund, I will contact PayPal to dispute the charge. I hope it does not come to that.

    I can understand why you would be supremely pissed. I'm trying to figure out how the refunds "failed" three times. Sounds like someone has a wrong account number etc. Don't give up!!! I think if you give Paypal the transaction number etc, they should be
    able to do something. Let them battle for you

    paypal refunds.. if initiated within paypal some times require an acceptance... I would check your Paypal account and see past history... also if MS used your email associated with MS and you possibly use an alternate for paypal... it will not go through...
    will sit there as unverified...

    even still.... it is a MS issue.. but you should contact paypal about having it reversed... they have a buyers insurance... and you being the buyer.. you will win 99% of the time...

  9. Can't agree here. When buying from store options are to use PayPal which the account linked to that is seperate or a credit card that is associated to the ms account. If he selected to pay with PayPal and wrong accounts were charged, well that's on him for
    having the wrong account connected. I've got a card and paypal set up and no issues have come about when I use paypal.

    It is not a PayPal issue now. Microsoft Store sent the item after I cancelled it, when I returned the item they failed to refund me my money. I should have just made the clear and left out the PayPal screwup (yes, most likely my error, Singer...). The issue
    now is that I returned the item and they keep *** up the refund. They even told me they charged the refund back to my "credit card"...I told them I did not use a card, but used PayPal. It took them a week to figure out they had made a mistake and tell me that
    they had never seen this issue before. The point is, I have been told three times I would receive a refund, then was told the refund failed. 13 calls later, still no refund. For those that have offered advice, I thank you. As for other unnamed persons, namaste!

  12. And this is why I make sure I am certain I want to buy things. Too many catches with returning. More so online. Amazon seems to be the only one close to perfecting it. Paypal is great, but only with account with long histories with an account link. A transaction
    may show on one end as a credit card when it was used as a credit from another company. It is more or less about how it is put through. Still, sorry to hear your issue, and.. yea... Good luck with that... And...moving on.

    Understandable to be irked. A bit irrational to rant in public about something nearly no one has gone through. I can try to sympathize with your derision towards the company and frustration at the situation, but it is kinda pointless to post this here. If
    someone else is going through this same situation then I readily wait to see what they did that is different from what you did.
