Microsoft store just keeps updating, and its starting to take its toll

so as context i got an Xbox One S in 2014 or maybe it was 2016, it was a Xbox one S Halo Wars 2 complete edition bundle, i got it because my original Xbox one wireless parts fried themselves after just 3 years or so, and the newer one was kind of slowing down, so i was enjoying it pretty great

fast forward to about 2017 and I started noticing the Microsoft store kept getting an update every week, then every few days, then every day, then every hour, and it got to a point it was non-stop updating in a never ending chain, so I tried to find a solution, and at the time the only solution was a complete factory reset, so now i have to do that every 3 to 4 months, its ridiculous

now ive seen a newer solution thats to do a factory reset, but to select the option that keeps your downloaded games and setting but gets rid of the excess data, and i did that, but it still doesn't seem to have worked, they're all just stop gaps until my Xbox overloads and starts turning off at random

so here i am again, with it to the point of the store updating immediately after finishing the update, so it wont be long until it starts force shutting down my Xbox again, is there a better thing i could do or even a permanent solution?

WARNING: i dont have the money to replace this Xbox if it dies, and if it dies im fubbernucked to hell and back until probably march of next year, if the new series X is in stock and not severely marked up

Just to understand the problem correctly. Does your console randomly shut down when you're playing or on the dashboard? If so, your console may be suffering from overheating.

see i thought that the first time it happened, but my room stays at about 40F-50F all year round, and i make sure to keep my Xbox out in the open so its not surrounded or covered in anyway, and it only starts to do it after the Microsoft store has reached the never ending update stage, and it will do it at any given time, in the middle of a game, or even just sitting idle in my games library

i even have a de-humidifier so there isnt too much moister, my only guess is it has a factory defect that took too long to notice, hell my Xbox 360 had
Tin-Whiskers, so maybe its in the same vain of unluckiness and i just got one with a weird defect, at this point im just hoping it can limp it until i can get either a new Xbox one S or X, or if im super lucky a Series X thats not marked up to mars

my current guess is the update just keeps stacking until it becomes a stack over flow and just full on overloads the device, shutting it down completely and needing to be booted back up

Or you could set your console to update while its turned off.

Just saying, I mean Microsoft gives you the tolls so that updates are as unobtrusive as possible, its your decision to use them or not. If you don't, you cant really complain.

its a bit odd i just turned it on then restarted console it did 3 fast microsoft store updates but gta online still taking 2 hours and another microsoft store one that is taking ages

Thank you, iveI just spent the last hour on chat with Microsoft and they've come to the conclusion its broke and offered me a free repair!

Think i will opt to take it back to store, not keen on keeping a console that brakes on initial start up!
