I cant download forza from microsoft store/ the new xbox app on windows 10. when i try to download forza from the new xbox app it says that my D disk on 1tb (300gb free space) it says "this location isn't set up for installing games. Set it as your location
for where new apps are saved". When i click on "Set it as your location for where new apps are saved" and change where new apps are saved to my d disk it says that "delete other apps? When i press "Yes" it says "We couldn't set your default set location. The
operation did not complete successfully. Try again in a bit. The error code is 0x80070005, in case you need it.

Can someone help me, i want to download Forza Horizon 3&4 which i have paid for both.

I have always had an ssd in my computer which ive had windows on. Ive never had my D drive in another pc. i have recently reinstalled windows from fresh. I used to download everything on my d drive before i reinstalled windows. Ive not found "WindowsApps"
on my D drive.

Error code 0x80070005 is an access denied error code. Did you have this drive installed on another PC or did you recently re-install Windows from fresh? And did you use to use this drive to install anything from the
Windows Store?

If the drive was from a previous Full Windows install, or from an older system you'll need to delete the old 'WindowsApps' folder which is likely still on your D:\ drive. I gave a reply to a very similar question to this on

The new xbox beta app is broken. On top of that xbox companion app just loops over and over when you try to start it.

Ive not found "WindowsApps" on my D drive.

Are you sure there isn't a 'WindowsApps' folder there? Is it hidden?

If you set up another drive for Windows Store installations (Game Pass downloads from the Windows Store), then it always creates a 'WindowsApps' folder.

I've got three drives on my PC and I've used them all to install apps from the Windows Store. They all have a 'WindowsApps' folder.

This other drive has a WindowsApps OLD folder which I had change using a third party program. Once I changed it I could use the drive again. Until then I had the same '0x80070005' error code.

This was before I learned that I could just delete these locked folders using Linux.
