  1. Microsoft Store fails to update to the latest version - Xbox Series X

I have been constantly trying to update the Microsoft Store to the latest version on my Series X through its auto updates. First time I tried this it literally never started the update procedure and was perpetually stuck on 0%. I then canceled the update, and reloaded the Microsoft Store to see if that would fix the problem. It somehow managed to start, and right at the end of the update... "Installation stopped". I then reloaded the Store again, and it 'looked' like the update finished, until I reopened the Store again and again. All of a sudden, the same update as before reappears in my installation queue at 98%. I tried again and again and again. Same issue occurred. I then did something desperate: I quickly attempted to pause the update before it finished as I knew it would just reappear once I reload the Store, then I canceled it. And sure enough, as soon as I opened the Store back up, the same update reappeared in my queue, this time, restarting the entire update process. I watched for any signs, and it just closed after it was 'supposedly' complete. I assumed that it had finally installed the update properly. Nope! Right when I go back into the Store, the same update appears again. I even tried restarting my entire Xbox to fix the issue and restart the update. Nope, after it's 'finished', it reappears again, and I am back to square one. For hours everything was fine afterwards., but after I was installing another game, the same update for the Microsoft Store, appeared once again, this time saying it was "Queued".

I've given up trying to update the Store, and I am just going to assume that the update is broken.

    What the heck is happening?

Edit: Wow, it seems like the issue 'magically' fixed itself. Strange.

    :)

Even if this answer is off topic, I'm considering downgrading to Windows 7 or 8. Since I read that Microsoft now wants to enforce an online requirement for Windows 10 (all versions). What is this rubbish? I buy expensive Windows version and maybe I just don't want to go online with my version. Damn update policy and damn forced policy. NSA can then download all the data it needs.

Got the same Problem on my series s

Tryed to reset the console and had no success.

But I think I got the solution

I closed the store on the home menu with the start Button while its on the download queue.
This worked for me as well! Had this recurring problem jamming up queue since Microsoft was down few months back. My store was already closed and update was stalled. So I opened store, then clicked home button and then quit the app. Went back to update queue and the thing actually completed the update!!

P.s. I’d done a reset, keeping games and apps an hour before as well but that had t worked on its own.

    Thank you!

Just to update I have been following this thread for around a year now and I also still constantly have the same issue. I have xbox one S and the original Xbox one. Both cannot play games bought or game pass games periodically. I have realised it is the Microsoft store updates doing this. Like mention in first post the problem miraculously and very randomly just dissapears... Until the store gets another update. Each time I go through the support cycle of troubleshoots for my 0x803f9006 error with no fix. Then of course until I realise again it's the store. It shows on queue, random kbs of the update each time, one will be 112, next time 85kb, since it vanishes at 99% so I open the store thinking it's done, the store behaves like usual but as soon as i exit store it's back at queue again with another random update kb ammount. My kids can't even play their free games. It's ridiculous.
