    Microsoft Store Content and Minors

We have been working very hard to keep our children & our family protected when we are on line & when using the Xbox. Through a variety of parental controls & settings, we have managed to find a way to keep our family informed,
protected, & safe. However, one loophole we have found lies with entering the Microsoft Store.

Without even trying very hard, anyone has access to adult content on the store. Simply by typing in "sex", anyone can see the tiles for adult movies or shows & even catch a small preview. I shudder to think what would happen if
one typed in even more words.

From combing through the web, I can see other people are having a similar problem, all to no avail. I too have layered into place every type of filter one can find. And though the age restrictions apply to buying games or apps
& for web content, they do NOT stop anyone in the store.

It feels like such a simple fix, one wonders why Microsoft hasn't quite done this yet? My husband's thought would be to simply have a code for even being able to enter the store, not just to approve purchases. That way you would
have to have an adult around when a search is done.

We have been using a parental notifying app called "Bark" with other devices, but they do not have anything set up yet for Xbox. We cannot wait for them to see what they can do or frankly, anyone at all, to deal with this issue!

For right now, we have had to institute the policy that our children cannot be on the Xbox without us around. And though in principal, we completely agree with that thought, there are times, when it might be nice to allow them
to play for a shorter period of time without us near & without worrying about what they are getting into.

When dealing with this topic of appropriate content, it is a tricky & difficult area for anyone to discuss & ponder. As parents we are often dealing with our own issues in this same area & are now trying to help our children with
the very same problem. We all have differing views & beliefs on what is appropriate for adults to be doing or viewing. However, it seems like we should be able to agree that protecting our children from creating bad addictions which can affect them the rest
of their lives, just might be something we should be taking seriously.

Brace yourself, for a Bible quote is coming, but when dealing with this, it is literally the only picture which keeps coming to mind. In 1 Peter 5:8 it says,"Be alert & of sober mind. Your enemy, the devil, prowls around like a
roaring lion looking for someone to devour." Now please hear me, I am NOT saying Microsoft is the devil. What I AM saying is, the adult content industry surely feels like a roaring lion, looking to devour our children (& yes, ourselves) on every front.

I plead with someone to address this problem, both here in the Microsoft Store & anywhere else they can find it. Join me in actively protecting our children's minds & souls, I beg of you. I would hope your position is one to help,
rather than ensnare & make even more money off of these precious people entrusted to us.

    :)

Only microsoft can make changes to the xbox store. This site is mainly for problems with xbox consoles, pc and mobile devices. Problems like sign in errors, crashing, installation errors. Feel free to comeback if you have any questions about your xbox
    console not working properly.

unfortunately there is not much to do since microsoft is in charge of the content of the xbox store, In any case, with the good education they give their children, I am sure that they should not have
    problems.

XBOX ENFORCEMENT TEAM THAT DOESN'T EXIST?

Microsoft offers parental control precisely to avoid cases like these. Parents are responsible for the content that minors can access.

Can't Download Demos Due To Age??

The ESRB is a Guideline (Mature rating M17) set in place for Retail. Microsoft cannot Distribute Mature Content to someone who by law is a Minor (under 18 years of age).
