Microsoft Solitaire Klondike Daily Challenge 7/19/2014

me too 19th and 28th klondike not working with windows 8

 

Based on suggestions in other threads I uninstalled MS Solitaire in order to clear out caches and then re-installed the game. The reported challenges for the 19th and the 28th still do not work.

 

I'm on Windows 8.1, all updates installed, logged in to XBox Live, and it still doesn't register when I play the Klondike target cards to the foundation in either of the 19 July or 28 July challenges.

Why is this so hard for you to fix?

 

Still not working -- for either the 19th or the 28th. I am on 8.1, it is updated and I have tried the fixes mentioned in this thread. Not working.

 

I did what you said in the previous comment. I deleted those 2 files, then opened the game, clicked on Daily Challenges and those 2 dates still showed the moves challenge. I played both games anyway, and when I got 2 jacks on 7/19 and 2 eights on the 7/28,
the wins still did not register.

So this "fix" didn't work either. Is there any mod or someone who actually uses Windows 8 that could test it before giving us instructions that don't work?

I guess I'll just have to be resigned to the fact that I won't be able to complete all the challenges for July.

 

What happened to Corey / MonsieurV3rt's comment that was posted just before mine, and to which I was replying? I posted my comment, and his disappeared. It was posted at approx. 8:50pm.

I guess they figured out that the "fix" he recommended didn't work either.

 

At the very least I'd like to see an apology from Msft about this problem.

 

I went on Microsoft Support Chat and they told me to uninstall my app and restart the computer. Then I was told to reinstall the app once it rebooted. I did that and all my games for the month were solved except tomorrows. One thing...they support people
said they would monitor my computer to make sure the updates took place. I hope everyone else figures it out. Good luck.

 

Success! I uninstalled the game, rebooted, reinstalled it and I got a different version (the tiles for selecting the game are smaller and look different) which now works properly. My existing scores were carried over to the new version.

For those who uninstalled the game, rebooted, and reinstalled it, do you have Window8? I have Windows 8, and I did the same thing, but it's still not working. Both days still show the moves challenge, and after I solved one of them, it still didn't register
the win. Didn't bother to try the other one.

I'm ready to give up. Only one more day left, and it doesn't look like there's anything I can do.

 

Not sorting the original problem and then repeating it on 28 July is extraordinary and shows that although this is the busiest thread on this forum at the moment, they are either not bothered or else totally incompetent programmers.

I'll find some better way of wasting my time in August.
