Microsoft Solitaire Collection will not start

    Microsoft Solitaire Collection will not start


    I have been using Microsoft Solitaire Collection for some time without any issues. Now when I click on the app, the splash screen starts and then exits completely without starting the app. I tried to search for this error but could not find anything.
    I did try uninstalling and then installing the app, but the issue did not resolve itself.

    I did find in the Event Viewer and in the application log this error, event ID:1000 Task Category (100) with this general information:

    My Microsoft Solitaire Collection has stopped working

    I am not using Microsoft Solitaire Premium.

    In Microsoft Solitaire Collection there is.

    "Settings" Apps & Features" choose Microsoft Solitaire Collection, Advanced Settings then Reset.

    Microsoft Solitaire Collection will not start

    I did not get any replies to this thread, however, I have found a solution and will keep this post here in case others have similar issues. Ultimately what resolved this issue was using the Media Creation Tool. It basically did an upgrade to my Windows
    10 computer. I already had Windows 10 installed, but this tool does an "upgrade" but even though the build number remained unchanged, it resolved the issue completely. The "Upgrade' took about 30-40 minutes, but did resolve it. Here is the link to the Medial

    I have Windows 8.1 and can not solve it.

    I just encountered the same issue. I googled, but found no real solution. I'm using the latest version of Windows 10 64bit. Than I uninstalled Microsoft Solitaire Collection through Start \ Settings \ Apps \ Microsoft Solitaire Collection and clicked on
    the button "Remove". Than I removed also XBOX Live. I rebooted my computer (laptop) and I went to the Microsoft Store and searched for Microsoft Solitaire Collection and downloaded / Installed it. Than I clicked on Start \ Microsoft Solitaire Collection (the
    new installed version) and launched it. Than it was auto synchronizing with my XBOX Live account and voila! It's now working again. Fast and smoothly. I hope it will also work on your computer.
