    Microsoft Solitaire Collection Will Not Open


    Recently when attempting to open Microsoft Solitaire it has been displaying a message in a blue panel that reads "Give us a minute... We're updating Microsoft Solitaire Collection. It should be ready for use shortly." It also provides embedded links to "See
    in store", "Copy to clipboard", and "Close". The PC screen is frozen at this point. The only actions that your mouse can utilize are the options this pop up message provides. So I have to "Close" to return to my PC normalcy. This supposedly minute update has
    been days. It won't open, period.

    I don't want to lose my achievement progress. I've a personal goal I hope to reach. So resetting and losing data is not what I want to do. I've played daily as a relaxation regimen for years and have a high cumulative score for Klondike. Don't want to lose
    this. Also hope to beat my time of 1:30.

    Another issue, it hasn't been able to update achievements to the cloud either. Constantly providing 101 error code.

    Does anyone know why this will no longer open? Has anyone experienced this too?

    Windows 10 ... Windows Solitaire Preview Edition? Where is the premium release edition?

    When I go to all apps from the start menu I do see an entry for Microsoft Solitaire Collection but it fails to open as well. When I select that app for uninstall, the uninstall fails. This install I believe failed several days ago. It's just now that I noticed
    the listing Microsoft Solitaire Collection above the Microsoft Solitaire Collection Preview.

    Any further thoughts? My first reaction would be to try a dirty uninstall via Regedit. Of course not preferred.

    In Microsoft Solitaire Collection there is.

    "Settings" Apps & Features" choose Microsoft Solitaire Collection, Advanced Settings then Reset.

    Hi, Pam.

    Based on this information, I can suggest this potential fix:

    Step 1.
    Press the Windows key + R key to open the Run window > type wsreset.exe > wait until the store opens automatically, and sign out of your account.

    Step 2.
    Press the Windows key + I to open PC Settings > Apps & Features > Installed apps > locate the Solitaire Collection app and go to advanced settings > click on “repair” and “reset”.
    Open the Solitaire Collection app and sign out of your account if you're logged in automatically.

    Step 3.
    Restart your PC and sign in with the account that owns the Solitaire Collection subscription on both the Microsoft Store and the Solitaire Collection app.
