Microsoft Solitaire Collection Runs Hot

I have been using this app for about a year and it seems to cause the computer to run hot as the fan runs continually after a minute or so of starting the application. The only way to resolve this situation is by restarting the computer. I have exited
the application and the fan runs continuously, even 24 hours later. If I restart the computer, the fan stops running within a few minutes every time.

I am running a Dell Precision Workstation T5500 with Intel Xeon X5667 3.07Ghz 4 core with 14GB of RAM. I also tested on a Surface Pro. The problem was evident in Windows 8 and 8.1.

Is there a solution to resolve this issue besides doing a restart after playing with the app?

Can't login to Xbox Live from Solitaire Collection

Same problem here. Other Microsoft games like Microsoft Mahjong and Microsoft Sudoku work well. I also have no problem logging into Xbox live directly. The only problem is with Microsoft Solitaire Collection.

I uninstalled Solitaire Collection and re-installed and run apps.diagcab, but it still will not sign in.

I am not using Microsoft Solitaire Premium.

In Microsoft Solitaire Collection there is.

"Settings" Apps & Features" choose Microsoft Solitaire Collection, Advanced Settings then Reset.

 

I had a similar problem on my old laptop a while ago - roaring fan and a tendency to shut down if over heating. I had the same problem with some old classic windows games.

i did notice a bit of dust around the fan intake vent so i used compressed air to clean both the keyboard and air vent and was amazed at the large amount of dust that was blown out of the vents!

As an aside I also had to replace the trackpad buttons in my wife's Dell laptop that necessitated having to remove the top of the compute which gave me clear access to the cooling system and was amazed at how blocked with fluff the the cooling tube entrance
was.

Anyway after cleaning both machines they are now quiet.

In the past i have also had to clean out desktop systems - it's amazing just how much dust and fluff builds up inside.
