Microsoft Solitaire Collection refuses to sign in on home PC

I play Solitaire Collection regularly on multiple different devices (Win 11 VM on Mac, Android Phone, iPad and Home Desktop PC running Windows 11). Recently the game refuses to sign in at all on the home PC. The start-up splash screen appears with the rotating set of spade cards above the title "Microsoft Solitaire & Casual Games" but simply hangs there and never gets any further. Other User accounts on the same Win 11 PC do not have this problem and the game signs in for those user accounts. In addition I can successfully sign in to the game using my own user account on my other devices. On the desktop I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app for my own account, but that did not change the behaviour. I've also tried uninstalling the app for all users (via Powershell), then rebooting the PC, reinstalling for a different user account, checking that works, and then reinstalling for my own user account and I still get the same problem every time. The game used to work fine on the desktop PC up until a week or so ago, so something seems to be slightly corrupted somewhere.

Can anyone suggest something I can do to resolve this issue?

Sorted Thanks - Method 1 above worked.

By the way I'm running the latest version of Windows 11, and the Trouble Shooters have changed so Start - Settings now has "Privacy and Security" or "Windows Update". Searching for Troubleshooters - there was no troubleshooter for "Windows Store Apps" and under "Other Troubleshooters - Program Compatibility" the Microsoft Solitaire app isn't listed.

Nilay here and I'm glad to answer your query today.

or the troubleshooter, check it by clicking on Start > Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters > Windows Store Apps.

Method 1:
- Press Windows key + R and this will open up the run box
- Type in services.msc and press Enter or hit OK
- Look for the following services
Xbox Live Auth Manager
Xbox Live Game Save
Xbox Live Networking Service
- Right click on each of them and click on Properties and set the Startup type to Automatic and Start each service if it is stopped
- Restart your PC afterwards and then check and try again

Method 2:
*If you are logged into the game, you might/will be prompted to login again if the app will successfully launch/open.
- Click on Start
- Click on Settings
- Click on Apps
- Under Apps & features and look for Microsoft Solitaire Collection and click on it
- Click on Advance options and try to reset the app first by clicking on Reset and see how it goes
- In the event that reset did not help, try to uninstall the app by clicking on Uninstall and reinstall it from the Microsoft Store afterwards and see if that helps out.

Hi, Pam.

Based on this information, I can suggest this potential fix:

Step 1.
Press the Windows key + R key to open the Run window > type wsreset.exe > wait until the store opens automatically, and sign out of your account.

Step 2.
Press the Windows key + I to open PC Settings > Apps & Features > Installed apps > locate the Solitaire Collection app and go to advanced settings > click on “repair” and “reset”.
Open the Solitaire Collection app and sign out of your account if you're logged in automatically.

Step 3.
Restart your PC and sign in with the account that owns the Solitaire Collection subscription on both the Microsoft Store and the Solitaire Collection app.

Thanks for coming to the forums. We understand have question on how to sign out of the Microsoft Solitaire collection. To do this all you need to do is sign out of the Xbox companion app. This will automatically sign you out of the Microsoft solitaire Collection.
