    MICROSOFT Solitaire Collection Events Challenge Timing Error

    It’s one of those issues I've wanted to report for quite some time now. As the title says the individual event times shown after you complete each online event don't exactly add up to the total time on the leader-boards. It's always a few minutes against
    you. I always keep track of the cumulative times on the leader-boards every five events or so.

    I've observed there are a few issues contributing to this. One being, MSC in general has very poor network utilization (I'm on a 3G connection). At the start of each event you get the infamous loading screen saying 'could not connect to the network...' before
    eventually loading. The same thing happens at the end of the event prior to the ‘continue button’. All this waiting is added to the leader board times, although this behavior is erratic.

    Then, to make matters worse you have the Ads which show up only prior to start of an event. It’s all fine as long as the 30 second Ads quickly load and are out of the way. The issue crops up when there’s increased loading times and the unavoidable waiting.
    While most video Ads load/play reasonably quickly, there are times when the Ads hang (The Bingo one been the worst of the lot) forcing you to close and restart the app. And not to mention all of this is added to your total time. I once had the Bingo
    Ad
    hang – as it always does, and for a change let it load for a good 15-20 minutes with the same end result, which is ridiculous oversight by your designers.

    I’ve been playing games (simulation) that are far more demanding of the system resources and network bandwidth and they all work just fine. It’s baffling why a game like this should have such poor loading times (after each click on the 'play' button) and
    network utilization. After all, you’re only transferring the current event result/status and perhaps data integrity check unlike other games where there’s constant transfer of data both ways.

    I would like to suggest the designers think of a complete overhaul of how the game utilizes network bandwidth in terms of data transfer and not just when loading Ads. The timer should start only when you make the first move and not when you click ‘play now’
    and should stop as soon as the event ends and the same be cached safely and only uploaded when there’s enough bandwidth available rather than add the waiting time to your total time. As for the Ads, please feel free to bombard us with Ads at the end of each
    event and not at the start, ruining our experience both time and quality wise.

    I was beginning to play the Events Challenges games for Microsoft Solitaire Collection but it doesn't appear as though my card Theme has carried over. Do Themes not work for the Events section?

  3. Microsoft Solitaire Error Code 107_113_11301

    After a reinstall of Windows 10 and 4 attempts to reinstall Microsoft Solitaire Collection, I still can't play Daily challenge or Events. Xbox logs me in and shows my history. I can play the daily in Microsoft Mahjong but not in Solitaire. Also cannot
    play the Star Club games. The Microsoft FAQ is no help at all even after trying several solutions that do not apply to the error code.

    HERE. Since this is more of a Support forum we tend to look at things from a more support side. Since the connection is 3G it's possible that it's having some issues as well. Have you been able to try connecting
    from a WiFi hotspot to see if the connection was better and allowed you to progress better without waiting?

    Unfortunately, 3G is the only option at my disposal...As mentioned above, my connection handles other far more demanding games reasonably well. A game like Solitaire shouldn't possibly need a fibre network. It's more of a question of optimizing bandwidth
    utilization.

    The link you provided seems more suited for feature suggestions than feedback on a possible bug (waiting time being added to the total time). It would be convenient if you could link me to a bug reporting site/page.

    HERE. I can assure you that the proper teams will see it if you post it there. I understand the issue isn't exactly that it doesn't load, it does, it just takes some time is that correct?
    It's possible that the connection was interrupted and it had to restart before finally being able to connect. Perhaps you can try on another device and network to see if the same issue happens? That would help to confirm what may be going on.

    me to close and restart the app and as a consequence have the entire waiting time along with the time it takes to start MSC again and start/finish the same event, added to the total time. Again, as said earlier, Ads (the BINGO one especially) make it a whole
    lot worse.

    Whilst most Ads are cached, the Bingo Ad (roughly 60 MB in size--just a guesstimate) is downloaded every time it pops up causing the same issue, only adding substantial waiting time to the cumulative time.

    My connection can handle multiplayer games (racing and the like) reasonably well. There's no reason for MSC to be having network reliability issues with my connection other than poor optimization. After all, it's only a one time upload/download of a particular
    event data along with the game status itself.

    I'll give it a try posting on the link you provided and see how it goes.
