Microsoft should do something against Sony's misleading advertising

Hello Friends of the Xbox community, I do this post with the intention to inform to Xbox about Sony is apparently using a type of misleading advertising to take advantage of sales this holiday season.

Apparently they are using some stickers on the covers of the game disc, mainly in top sale games like Call of Duty Black Ops IIII and Red Dead Redemption 2, where they advertise that the game brings "Exclusive Content" for that platform, which I do not doubt
that it is true but the way it is advertised, implies that the potential buyer is misled or confused that the "Game" is the exclusive content.

I think that not a few will be confused with this, which would cause a decrease in the sales of these games on the Microsoft platform, maybe even some will buy a PS4 console thinking that these games are just "Exclusives" for Sony´s plataform, and we know they
are multiplatform games, and also in Xbox One X they will perform with better quality and the contenue will be more enjoyable than PS4.

It is incredible what can be done by companies to take advantage of their competition, and I am of the opinion that Microsoft should not keep their hands crossed and do something about it; this kind of practice First of all, disloyal should not be allowed and
secondly, should it occur, it should be punished. Also there is another digital press portal in Spain, "El Español" makes a misleading advertising that supports Sony to the detriment of Microsoft, I think Microsoft Spain should take action with this site for
the bad publicity it is giving to the company with the intention of Highlight their closest competitor.

talk about. If someone from the Microsoft team please read this post, and can take some action on it would be good, because I think that if this continues like this, it could affect Microsoft financially in these Christmas sales, we cannot allow things like
this happens, we as comunity need to be together, informed and not allow this kind of stuff happens against the company we belive in and not take any actions.

Contracts, negotiating, and programming should concluded before you release any product to consumers CMUchippewa otherwise it's called misleading advertising.

 

Wheres my token for 3months of xbox live

i bought 3 month and microsoft advertise that i will get 3 months free ... wheres my token my xbox live expires in 2 hrs ,and nothing this is false advertising and misleading

 

In both cases, it states that they get the content first, so I would say this isn't misleading.

 

What about the EXCLUSIVE?

 

They're timed exclusives just as there have been on Xbox in the past. Nothing illegal about that, it's good marketing getting some time limited content on a system.

In the first sample, two stickers are circled. They do say that there is something exclusive involved if you buy the PS4 version. Below that, it does say that they get select content first. The RDR2 sticker even says it's only for 30 days.

I don't think its misleading at all. The sticker does say exclusive but right under states what is exclusive and that is certain content. Just be careful as you know the forum guidelines and this is pushing the boundaries.

It's only some content that is available only on PS4 for 30 days, there's an outift, a horse and a gun. Once that 30 days is up they'll also be available on Xbox One. That timed content didn't make me rush out to buy a PS4 mostly because I have one already,
still I pre ordered the game on Xbox purely for the slight benefits of playing the game on the Xbox One X.

It is true, but I think that the way it is promoted, can confuse people, not everyone reads the little letters, and not everyone is informed like us. Let's set an scenario..., let's suppose a teenager who wants a new console for Christmas, is not very well
informed, and wants to play Call of Duty, when he sees this advertising he can get confused and opt for the Sony console, when he could play the same game, even paying less for the system if he get an Xbox one S. I do not know if now you understand my point?

 

As long as the information being presented is accurate (which it is - they get select content first), they can promote it. In turn, Microsoft can pay for access to specific content first, or they can promote the improvements of playing the game on their
console, such as a more robust online system and the increased performance of Xbox One X versus PS4 Pro.
