From my experience, the Xbox 360 controllers are tanks

These (Xbox 360 controllers) can take a beating and still keep on working

From my experience, the standard Xbox One controller is like a fancy sports car. It is well built and it is capable of taking a fair amount of damage before it stops working.

I'm honestly going to be surprised if this Xbox One S controller is as durable as the Xbox 360 controller. I am going to be really surprised if this Xbox One S controller is even more durable than the Xbox 360 controller.

would love an elite a friend has one and the customization and build quality are superb. the standard controller is quite nice much better than 360 which was a great controller itself. i like these upgrades but will wait to order a custom painted controller
or elite next

 

Best ever ? Not in my opinion, Xbox One and S have great controllers, but Gamecube is the best ever imo.

I would like to purchase this controller, but am hesitant. I have 4 standard xb1 controllers that Ive been using since the Titanfall bundle was released. One is useless due to the drift. Another one experiences occasional drift. The other 2 are fine.

I have 4 360 controllers that are 10 years old, and used everyday, still fuctioning with no issues. They have survived 3 360 arcades & 1 360 slim.

 

I have been reading a lot about the One controller being less durable than the 360 lately from some. If just seems like I have had the exact opposite experience. I have a ton of those 360 controllers from places. One of my sons kept wearing out the sticks
and I would replace them. Finally started fixing them with parts from some of the broken ones. Had them given to me by a lot of people. Not once so far with the One. Launch controllers still work great. Even had a couple dropped and still work great.
And they really feel more solid. Opened one controller to put in custom sticks for a friend and they just are more solid all around just from looking. Guess I am just lucky this gen.

 

^ I had no trouble with my launch controller until I "launched" it hard into the floor by accident. Not the controllers fault, replacement I bought was a much better build though. Now using an Elite with no complaints.
