Microsoft Rewards App (Error Location Update)

Hi after the recent update every time i try to load the microsoft rewards app on my xbox 1 it sits for awhile then a black screen that says update your location comes up .

I have gone under settings and language like it says and made sure they all are set for the us of a and even clicked the restart console to make sure to no avail!

I also went to the app it self and uninstalled the app restarted console and re downloaded again to no avail.

Is this a update issue that needs ti be noted? And is there a quick fix for this issue that can be mentioned in the update problems section .

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

P.S I also checked under network settings to make sure there were no known issues on xbox live at time of testing.

I also did a soft reset on the console as this was one of the possible fix suggestions on one of the many posts i read while trying to fix the issue on my own .

I've had the same issue as well. I've tried the power cycle and it didn't work. I also checked the Network settings to make sure everything was ok there.

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely.
Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.
Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

Hello, since this morning I can no longer launch the Microsoft Rewards app. I have a message saying Update your console's location.

My console and app are updated. What is strange is that it works when I put my console in French (I'm French). I prefer to play in English so I put my console at United State and it doesn't work anymore.

The solution to your issue is in what you wrote: if you are French, living in France, internet connection have a french IP, and all your profile is French, if you put your console in English/United States, when you start the Microsoft Rewards App, the app
find that your rewards profile is French based.

For that reason the error say to "update your console location" because you moved away from French/France.

Put back the console to French language, France state.

As a workaround you can access the Microsoft Rewards site from PC or Smartphone.
