    Microsoft responded saying that they don’t have any intentions of removing or discontinuing...


    So, if you haven't heard the rumors, there were lots of news outlets you never even heard of saying Microsoft might discontinue Xbox Live Gold, well Microsoft responded to these rumors and say they have no intentions of discontinuing Xbox Live Gold at the
    moment. If you stop and pause for a second, they said "at the moment", which means that could change in the future.

    What do you guys think? Should Microsoft make Xbox Live completely free? Should they keep Xbox Live online? Or should they LEAST remove the paywall and requirement to be or subscribe to Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on Free-to-Play games? Let
    me know your thoughts in the replies section.

    Paying for xbox live gold will never go away. The price might change but it will still be around. I do wish free to play games were actually free to play. You can keep the paid dlc because that helps support the games.

    This could have just been a mistatement, but, honestly if they did make it free, id be happy with that. Just depends on situation :)

    True, but Game Pass is still a thing! Microsoft is still able to earn some sort of revenue.

    Plus, it was rumored that Halo: Infinite was suppose to be a Free-to-Play game, so it would make sense if Microsoft ACTUALLY did this.

    I don’t mind paying for Gold tbh. With the Games with Gold titles and the additional weekly/ seasonal deals on the Xbox store, I get my moneys worth from paying the subscription.

    The thing is that if they made it free, would it impact how the online service is operated? Servers cost money to run and maintain and removing that revenue is bound to have an impact.
