    Microsoft refuses to help me redeeming my gift cards


    Hello,

    For a long time now I try to get gift cards redeemed to my Xbox account. Both the console and the Microsoft Website don't accept the codes.

    I contacted the support and after a long time of waiting I got the response that I bought the code at another place than I am living.

    But this is not true. I live in Germany and I bought the cards in a local shop. I provided the support both the receipt and my ID which indicate my statement is correct. Yet I got no further support. Contacting Germany's Microsoft address was ignored.

    I don't know what the problem and neither why I don't receive help. If there is an invalid place of living in my account I cannot see it nor does the support fix that for me.

    What can I do?

    If I can't do anything, where can I find the relevant Terms of Usage for legal steps?

    Hello,

    I did, the store (a regular supermarket) was just the provider of the card. The partner company that activates the card (Toto Lotto GmbH) also stated all they do is to access the Microsoft API to activate the card. They checked the details and confirmed
    the codes are registered as bought in Germany.

    Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We see you have an issue with codes. Unfortunately, if you are getting an error that the code cant be redeemed due to region. Then support is correct they are for another region. This is totally possible to happen even
    if purchased from a local store. We recommend going to the store and letting them know the codes they have are for a different region. You can try the

    . But as the codes are for different region you will not be able to redeem them.

    What is considered to be "another region"? Both my living place and the store are located in Cologne, Germany and I received confirmation that the codes are registered in Cologne.

    I had the same issue with an earlier gift card in a market of another market chain. Back then the MS support was willing to redeem the code. My question back then what the issue was was left unanswered. I think it would have helped me now if it wasn't ignored.
