Microsoft Refurbished Xbox Ones?

Hi,

So I've been seeing a lot of stores lately including Best Buy and EB Games are selling Official Microsoft Refurbished Xbox One's for significantly lower price than "brand new" ones. I was wondering if anyone has bought one? I asked at the stores about
what kind of warranty etc.. and I've gotten different answers. I was wondering if anyone actually bought one and is happy with it or had any problems, or more importantly, if you have the warranty in writing so you can definitively say what the warranty is?

I generally stay away from buying refurbished stuff as you can never be too sure what you're getting, but I'm curious about these.

My xbox has been banned, WHY?!

What if you have a refurbished Xbox from Microsoft. I sent my Xbox in sometime around January to be worked on because of the "red ring of death" lawsuit, which allowed it to be worked on under warranty. I have not modded my xbox in any way, is it possible
that my xbox has been banned because it was refurbished from Microsoft?

 

Not sure if this thread is still relevant, but I picked up a Refurbished Xbox One + Kinect yesterday. It worked great all night. Suddenly, the console made this horrific grinding noise, which subsided and I could play my game as normal. But the next morning,
Xbox suddenly couldn't read the disc.

After searching online, I found that this was a common problem, particularly among Xbox One Day One consoles. I returned to Best Buy and got another one, hassle free. After about 5 hours, the SAME thing happened, except this time, Xbox suddenly stopped
reading the disc drive and showed "Insert Disc" when I already had a disc in the drive. I couldn't get it out and had to remove it manually. Luckily, no harm came to the disc.

I asked the Best Buy rep if we could find out "why" these Xbox's are refurbished and they assured me that it was mostly because they were returned by kids whose parents weren't okay with them having it or "boyfriends who got in trouble with their girlfriends."
They assured me that these things go through an "Extensive Microsoft Test" before they are returned.

Seeing as I have dealt with 2 broken Xbox's within 24 hours, I would say don't do it, though I suspect it is just the Xbox Day One refurbs. IF you can find a different refurb, maybe it will be worth it?

On the bright side it looks like the prices are starting to come down a little anyway.

i bought a refurbished xbox one and its all okay (i have not discs) but i have CoD AW in my account.

But the point here is that my refurbished xbox one comes with a warranty that says refurbished xbox 360. is that okay? what would i do?
