Microsoft Refund Policy is a JOKE!

Microsoft will refund purchases if they determine it was an unauthorized purchase. I had one many years ago and got it refunded.

 

Microsoft can and do refund for Unauthorised digital purchase because they can revoke the digital license to the product.

Happened to myself just last month my son purchased call of duty black ops four without permission I filled in the form clicked that box a second box opened asking who did make the purchase in which I filled int the information. 2 days later the purchase was
refunded and my card was refunded >

I understand your point for physical products but digital products can be revoked

So upon getting home from work, I saw that Black Ops 4 was on my Xbox. So it seems that my son got my controller and purchased the game with my knowledge. He was the only other person home with me this weekend. So I refilled a claim and I am waiting
for a response from Microsoft.

 

Your account wasn’t hacked. No one hacks an account and buys games for them lol.

 

I do not understand that there is still someone who has to make insults.

 

same happened to me my game is mot working it says sign in the person who bought this so i am teutry for like a week now everyday i email for refund request they say its not eligible before refunding was better;(

You have to go though Microsoft all of the way if you file a dispute with your Bank or PayPal and you get your money back, your Microsoft account will suspended and have an overdue payment that will need to be payed off before re accessing your account.

This happened to a friend xbox on the Xbox 360.

 

I will give you a warning if you go through PayPal and dispute it MS can look at this as Marketplace theft to try and get around the refund policy and can very well permanently ban your account.

This is why it is good to have a Passkey on your account or even to lock your account down so that you would either have to put the passkey or password in for your account anytime your account is attempted to be signed in that way no one will gain access
to your account without your permission and make charges on your account.

My son had exactly the same thing happen to him on Friday (30th November). He had Fortnite on his Xbox but was downstairs doing homework, then we received an email for a purchase of £19.99 for VBucks which he hadn't ordered or received and now Microsoft
/ Xbox are refusing to refund the amount - very, very disappointed in their service.

 

VBucks are called "consumable DLC" in that it can be used up. Those purchases are not subject to refund per the Microsoft Services Agreement. Some things to suggest to prevent this happening again:

- Remove your
payment method from your son's account, or
require a passkey for purchases that only you know

- Ask if your son has given his account to another friend (ask if he's "game-sharing" with someone; if he says yes, he probably has)

The former will make sure that you are aware he is making purchases with your authorization. The latter may indicate that whoever has his account is the one that actually made the purchase. Hope you can get to the bottom of this.

 

He already has a passkey on his account that he doesn't know the code which is concerning that the purchase was made and considering he wasn't in his room but his xbox was on is even more worrying as he was downstairs with me doing his homework. I'm disappointed
that Microsoft say a straight no with regards to a refund as if they checked his account they would also see he never received the item!

 

Passkeys are a good quick way to log in, but there is one minor flaw, which falls back to my previous statement. If the user fails to enter the passkey three times, it reverts to asking for the account's password. If someone still knows that (such as might
happen when someone abuses the Home Xbox feature - "game sharing"), they can bypass the key and still make the purchase.

Has the item purchase appeared on your account's order history on the
account site?

 

My son doesnt know the passkey and it was never asked for.

I have received an invoice for the item but no item.

Can you please check it was delivered as you are refusing to refund?
