Microsoft points expired

Hi guys, unfortunately I forgot to use my points, I didn't know they were expiring, I thougt there was no expiring date. I never use the mail they are linked.

Is there a way to recover them? It was around 43 euro. Please.

pre paid points do not expire only ones that were given in part of a promotion or contests, I would call support if I were you.

Sorry, but once currency expires, there is no way to get them back.

Generally any sort of promotional credits expire about a year after you receive them unless stated differently in the terms of the offer. If you had money that expired on June 1, that was more than likely money left over from when Microsoft switched from
the point system to the currency system 2 years ago. They made it known then that the currency would expire this year and they did send out notices about a month ahead of the expiration date too.

Hey sagtogi, I am sorry to hear about this, I'd feel the same way! So I can understand but unfortunately as Hassassinade has mentioned, when promotional points expire we cannot extend the expiration. In the future, make sure to note which points are promotional
points so this won't happen again.

Hold up!

From what I have read, any points you put into the system now will be converted into your local currency, and will have an EXPIRATION DATE put on them (which violates laws in some places, for what it's worth).

I am waiting for a more clear answer on this.

Sorry, but once points expire they are not able to be added back. You are able to see when points are expiring (within 30 days) on the Microsoft Billing site
here. They cannot be re-added once they expire.

When do Microsoft Points expire?

Purchased points don't expire. Any points you get through promotions can have expiration dates. Typically, points expire within thirty days of the date you get them. To view any points in your account that have expiration dates,
go to the Billing and Account Management page, sign in with your Windows Live ID, and then click
Microsoft Points under Stored Credits. If you have points that are expiring in the next thirty days, you can click
View expiring points to view the points and their expiration dates.

redeemed points do not expire the only ones that do are the ones given to you for free in promotions or contests. but you purchase any MS points they do not.
