Microsoft points change

I have to say changing Microsoft points to real money was the stupidest thing you ever done I was planing on buying the season pass on Xbox one, so I made a trip to the store bought a 50$ Card came home and where there's no taxes on the cards now it gets
taken from my 50$ oh but wait the add on was 49.99 and there was nothing left for taxes when I buy "microsoft points" I bring extra money because I know there is taxes but I can't buy a 56$ card or 50$ and a 10$ no jump right up to 25 that's 75$ for 49.99
I was hoping to save 30$ on 4 dlc not spend more

Change the payment option from a card to Microsoft Points. You don't have to "pay" anything for free content. If you're doing this on the Xbox.com website click Change to Microsoft Points. If you're doing this from the Xbox 360 console you will need to press
X when purchasing the content and it will change to Microsoft Points.

Microsoft points change buggered up

Hey, since Microsoft had the simply genius idea of scrapping points for your local currency (something they should have done a long time ago) I can't help thinking they've buggered it up. I've converted my points into pounds, which is great, the one problem
is it won't let me buy anything with them, it's saying I have to connect a credit card, which is not going to happen. What's the point of still being able to buy gift cards if they crappy system won't even let you use them?!

Is there a way around this or will it take some time for Microsoft to realise they've messed up?

 

I don't think you understood what the ms points was

When you buy ms points the price of the points included the tax

With currency you aren't charged any different

It is actually the same season passes are 49.99 but as required by your local government you are taxed on it

Just as you are taxed on ms points purchases

You just didn't see it

Hence why the demonization were always had a different t requirement like 4000 ms points which was like 5 bucks

I know it includes tax so should these cards

 

Nope never have its is illegal to charge tax on a gift card only on purchases

Usually when you buy a prepaid seasons pass they give you enough currency to cover both

If not take it up with your retailer.

When I bought cod seasons pass it was 49 bucks cash plus tax but if you buy the ms points equivalent it would be 54 bucks in game stop because it covers the cash

If you just buy a currency card it won't

 

The moral of this story is I'm pissed and I need a ******* 25$ card and I only have 15$

 

One more thing if there was taxes on Microsoft points I had to be paying double taxes

Or currency you get the exact Mount you buy

When you buy content the taxes are built into the ms points price listed not the gift card you purchased

So if you bought a game for 1600 ms points in Canada you need to buy 1400 ms points plus another 1400 ms points

Taxes are not included on gift cards. However when buying prepaid seasons pass you are just buying enough currency to cover the tax and dlc to buy what you need it is a convenient feature

You aren't being double taxed
