    Microsoft Points Cannot Buy You Live


    Hello Everyone! Your friendly ambassador here, just wanting to point something out that has been troubling many people. You cannot use Microsoft money to buy Xboxlive, you have to buy the specifically designated card.

    Sorry, but you cannot change it for free. You will need to buy Microsoft Points to change your Xbox LIVE Gamertag,

    How to buy Points (Xbox.com purchase) / Add money to Xbox Live account?

    Points were retired so you cannot buy them from the website.

    To add money to the account, you need to redeem either a pre-paid Points card (yes, they're still accepted if you have them) or an Xbox Live Gift Card.

    You cannot use microsoft points to buy xbox live subscriptions!

    You will need to start up a subscription with either a credit card, or you could buy a prepaid xbox live gold code.
