    Okay, about three days ago I contacted chat support about how to fix my xbox one controller. There was no way in fixing it, and the agent asked me if I am a member of the XB1 Preview Program. I am, and the agent said that I would need to contact the xbox
    support twitter online and send them this code 1306094127 to get a new xbox one controller. After sending them a message, the twitter support team put me in a private microsoft chat. There I told the twitter support team that their agent promised that I would
    get my xbox one controller fixed/ or replaced. After about and hour of discussing the case, they said that replacing a controller is not really allowed by them and that I need to make a post here to get the controller replaced. The twitter team told me that
    the agent is wrong and make a major mistake(they also said it has happened a few times) , however they told me to post here about the issue that occurred in order to get a new controller.

    After spending abbout two hours with the microsoft support team, I've gotten nowhere with this. I've been lied to and feel like I will keep going in circles about this. I'm not trying to pull a fast one on microsoft, but the agent told me i would get a replaced
    controller because I'm in the preview program. I've been with microsoft for around 7 years now, and I've never seen any worse service than now. I hope that whoever moderates these forums can take the time to read this because this is becoming frustrating for
    a long time fan of xb1. Again look up this code to see the issue [Mod removed]



    I am confused as to why the twitter support team told me to post here, but this is an issue and I hope for this to be resolved.

    Microsoft rep please read this!

    My wish and plea to you at Microsoft is that you add the family sharing feature back for games that have been bought on XBL. This way we can have your vision for a digital and connected experience.

    Digital and connected is the way to go, this way you can encourage people to take part of the vision you so sadly have had to alter due to Sony's move.

    Long time fan and Xbox user.

    Agreed. Allow family share for digital downloads. Remove gifting and license transfer on digital for now (this could still work as you would have to be online for the license transfer, which would remove it from your account, and the recipient would have
    to be online to receive the license, so there still wouldn't need to be a 24 hour check in that case). Either way, don't remove benefits of the digital vision you have, just improve on the vision.

    Sorry to hear you are having issues with your controller. The controller is governed by the same 1 year warranty that the console is covered under. The warranty info can be found here:

    support.xbox.com/.../warranty-and-registration-faq


    If you are still in warranty you can get it repaired at no cost if it meats the criteria for in warranty repair. If it is out of warranty there would be a cost and you would have to put in a request for repair either way by visiting here:
    myservice.xbox.com/.../Welcome.aspx

    I am not sure why anyone would tell you being a part of the Preview Program would add any type of benefit to your warranty or any type of replacement of your accessory because that would not be the case as far as I know. Hope the info I have given helps!

    ^^ Basically, what The Dude wrote. Being in the Preview Program has no bearing at all in regards to a controller. I have no idea why they would even ask that? Also, I still don't understand why MS Support pushes people to post on these forums... maybe
    they just want to get them off the phone? No one from MS checks these forums and no one here has the capacity to actually help you.... we can only offer advice. If your controller is over a year old, and the warranty is out of date, your best bet is to ship
    it off to be repaired or just buy a new controller.

    I understand the frustrations of receiving different information from different support teams, really sorry for any confusion. The link TheDude042 provided gives a pretty good rundown of how the warranty works depending on your region.

    Being a part of of the preview program doesn't change your warranty status and if your controller is no longer under warranty then purchasing a replacement is going to be your best option.

    you're barking up the wrong tree. Microsoft won't contact you over XBL. If you want to contact somebody at microsoft, you'll have to email them. Check the "Contact Us" page. Chances are, you're not even going to get a reply, however.
