Microsoft, PLEASE just give us (Gold Members) codes for DiRT 3

At this point everyone has had it up to here with the 360 Games With Gold. Because SO MANY PEOPLE have problems with either A: the update on the XBOX One, B: They need a valid payment number on xbox.com (which they have), or C: (this one's me) because of
child restrictions, you can't buy it on xbox.com as the payment is restricted.

Because so many people have this serious issue of not getting what is rightfully theirs, please just give out codes for DiRT 3. "Oh, Games With Gold are only supposed to work when you have an active paid gold membership." Honestly, who cares? You could probably
find DiRT 3 in the bargain bin somewhere for around seven bucks. It would just be so much easier if codes were given out to those who ask. Please Microsoft, countless others and I were actually looking forward to this one...

You mentioned that your account has child restrictions. That restriction could be temporarily lifted, if you ask.

 

Child account restrictions, ask the member of your family that is the "adult" of the account.

I wanted to throw my 2 cents in here.

I watched the video on the xbox one console under the Xbox Live Gold area of the dashboard saying I had to claim my x360 gwg games from either an x360 console or xbox.com. I do not have an x360 console, so I tried multiple times to claim Dirt 3 on xbox.com
to my son's Xbox Live account. He is 13 and is an active Gold member. When I got to the point of "download game to xbox 360" on xbox.com, It came up with an error saying Sorry (In big font) This transaction cannot be completed on xbox.com, please complete
form an xbox.

I must have called Xbox Support 3 or 4 timestoday; sat thru multiple hold queues, got dropped twice while speaking to reps, put into a transfer to nowhere and then lastly spoke to a rep whose best answer was "Do it from an xbox 360". Again, I do not own
an xbox 360.

The thing that killed me for this whole debacle, was that the reps all at one point tried telling me to claim the game from the Xbox One. I kept mentioning that the video on the Xbox One Console said I specifically did not have that as an option. It's
like the support reps have no idea how this works. Some of the reps tried to tell me Dirt 3 was not able to be claimed because it was not backward compatible. I had to advise them that it was on the list of games. I am pretty sure also that the aforementioned
video for GWG indicated going forward that all future X360 offerings will be backward compatible.

I mentioned the error each time. Even tweeted a screen picture of it to @xboxsupport a couple of times. I even mentioned to reps about this possibly being blocked on xbox.com because of my kid's account being a child account and that maybe there is some
sort of imposed restriction from MS because of him being a child. No clue at all. Really said that the reps do not know how this works.

Ultimately a friend of the family has an X360, so I drove to their house, signed in on their X360 and claimed Dirt 3 to my son's account. It took a bit to actually find Dirt 3 on the X360 console. Searching for the game in the X360 store did not find it.
Actually had to list all games starting with D alphabetically in the X360 store and page thru the listings to finally claim it and download it. Had to actually cancel the download on my friend's X360 console and make sure to sign out of their console and
not have it remember his password.

When I returned home, Dirt 3 for X360 was under the Ready to Install section of Apps and Games on my son's Xbox One.

I guess I will go back over to my friend's place on Monday and claim Dungeon Siege 3. and then from here on out stop by my friend's place every 15 days as long as I keep upping my son's Gold membership until he turns 18 years of age.

I tried getting it online and it said i needed to put cc info to get the game, but i didnt want to do that so i tried going to the xbox one store and it said bundle and now im on the forums trying to get a free game, that was "promised"

 

Well you just need a valid payment option to get the free game, you could get it but you are choosing not to.

 

I have done everything I can to download it but it just doesn"t work. My gold membership is on my nephew account (he is not 18). And it would not let me download. It ask to buy it on xbox one , but that also doesn"t work. I don"t have a xbox360 .What options
are their left?

 

Dont understand how people can say MS does not care. They have been doing everything in their power to bring us all better gaming. As for the gwg redeem issues. It is actually very very simple. As it states you can either download them from your 360 or on
xbox.com, as long as you have a cc on file as per agreement. Very very simple, I have done it both ways and it works very easy.

 

Sometimes I think Microsoft don't know how software works .

And no it's not very simple.

My nephew has a account on Xbox One (he isn't 18 years) , he has also gold.

Me also have a account (I am 38) but the Gold is not on my account.

When I go to xbox.com and go to games with gold push on the button "download to xbox360" I must for the thousand time give up the password for my nephew and then I get.

"Sorry

Your account is unable to make this type of purchase on Xbox.com. Please complete this transaction from your Xbox."

If I try to do it with my account (parent account) they don't see the gold of the other account (nephwew with gold, who is not 18 years) and I can only buy the game. And it's not the same as the buying you get when you buy on Xbox One where you don't have
to buy anything, you just have to have a pay method. You are billed with I think 24.99$.

Now don't say I need a Xbox 360. Then what's the point of backwards compatibility?

I hope Microsoft fix this soon or else a lot of users going to be upset I think.
