Microsoft please fight back

Not sure about frames-per-second, but 1080p has been a serious HD standard for awhile now. For someone that uses a projector, it certainly matters to me....MS needs to get their act together and fast now that they understand what the landscape has become...The
digital foundry is going to rip them apart over and over again.

Also, anyone using this dumb reductionist argument that ALL video games have to be about gameplay over graphics are ignoring the word "video" in "video games". The visuals and gameplay obviously both matter...

 

^^^ Gears of War Judgment. Beautiful in every aspect, smooth, polished, fine tuned... And utterly crap in every sense of the word.

 

@Chompsky What you and others don't seem to get it is. Of course graphics matter....to an extent. Both console deliver graphics better than their predecessors regardless of the final pixel count. To that end I struggle to see what people are crying about.

 

so far it seems like better graphics means more devs, more time, shorter games and less innovation, i'm in a happy place with the graphics i've been seeing and i'm ready to see more innovation and a all around better gaming experience.

 

MS is fighting back. They've spoken many times about the 1080p vs. 720p question and have repeatedly stated it doesn't matter that much. But no one believes them, partly because the other console maker is making an issue out of it. Developers have also chimed
in, stating the other console is easier to program for, and MS has spoken to that issue also, noting that as devs learn the XB1 architecture it will be easier for them. What else do you want them to do?

Huh? They might be spinning it off for accounting, but selling it, I had not heard this rumour?

 

It's speculation, nothing more, that the new CEO might do it. Just hot air for now.

 

Surely they can't sell it off, doesn't xbox live make them a viable profit

 

I honestly think selling the X1 with Kinect is a nail in the coffin of the Xbox....IF it does come down to them selling off the brand.

From what I understand they're really giving away the system for what the price of the X1 AND Kinect really cost. It's one of the reason I still have a little respect for MS. Someone posted it a while back...where MS bascially is giving away the Kinect.

If that is true to form....then they are really taking a beating with this console. As much as I'm suppose to be a Sony fanboy, I don't want to see the Xbox brand go anywhere. It's good for competition and let's be honest...the hoopla with the console
RACE (not war) is entertaining at times.

 

The Kinect was a complete and absolute waste of money. Voice commands could've implemented with a simple mic.

Yes...voice commands into a mic would have been much more efficient and logical. All the "STOP LISTENING" and having to over-enunciate everything is just silly.
