Microsoft pay not working for gamer tag change

I am currently trying to change my gamer tag because I am quite unhappy with it, I have twenty dollars in my Microsoft pay account and when i try to change it i am met with "Contact us at Microsoft support We’re having trouble processing your payment and we’d like to get it sorted out.".

Hi there!

Sorry to hear about that. If you could not use your Microsoft balance, please instead try to use a debit/credit card to pay for gamertag change. You could still use your Microsoft balance to purchase games or in-game stuff or pay for your subscription.

There is no way to delete a gamer tag. You can pay to have it changed, but deleting the Microsoft Account will not delete the associated gamer tag and will only make that gamer tag inaccessible since there will no longer be a supporting Microsoft account.

unfortunately, if you want your gamer tag changed you will have to pay $10 to change your gamer tag.

I do not think they are two gamer tags. One is a gamer tag and the other is your nickname. The gamer tag cannot be changed without paying a fee. Your nickname you can change anytime you want
