Microsoft needs a lesson in crafting effective gaming UX, according to a new case study.

I have a Kinect version in my lounge and I love it.

I just bought a 2nd Xbox One for the "study" but without Kinect (figuring since I will be sitting 1 foot away from the X1 I don't need voice control plus since I won't be watching TV on it then also I don't need it for IR extender etc.).

And I have to say I miss the Kinect when I play in the study - it adds so much more than just "motion" - it's integral part of the UX.

So recommend you get with Kinect - especially if it is going in your lounge.

I am trying to at least study something useful for a min of one hour per day - may it be lessons in Physics etc. or how to fix something before even thinking about gaming.

Computer gaming trains different areas of the brain. It has a positive effect on the eye hand coordination. Some new studies show gaming helps on dementia and alzheimer's and so on. But critics don't want to hear that.

That is the problem...

When the uncrafted weapons are so under-powered to the point where crafting is required to excel at the game.

This is so messed up!

Obviously, crafted weapons are going to be better, but the uncrafted weapons need to be effective too.

I wouldn't mind mass effect GTA but it won't happen, they would need to craft a believable universe for it to work.
