I'm looking forward to the Scorpio reveal, and getting one preordered. Also looking to see what games will be coming out in the next year! I love that they are having the conference on Sunday so that I can, for once, watch it live. I work during the week.

I'm with you on that. Sunday works great for me. Between Microsoft and Bethesda (Elder Scrolls VI anyone?) on Sunday, I'm not sure if I'll even watch E3 live during that week. Just catch the highlights.

I like that it's on Sunday. Normally I need to leave work early to watch it. If I leave early I usually have to make up the time another day, but it's only an hour so not too bad.

Microsoft Moved E3 Event to Sunday June 11

I just finished watching a YouTube video from LinusTechTips. I saw in the past some peeps on here mention Xbox 1 may use AMD Ryzen tech? AMD has just released it. Microsoft wants Xbox 1 to be the most powerful gaming console, and it looks set to be exactly
that, until Sony releases PS5 or something. And while others on here may not give a crud about hardware, LodgedBonsaid923's response is true. A lot of people want Microsoft to release more details of Xbox Scorpio's specs. I still stand by my backing that SSD's
are much more efficient with booting, loading, and saving, than a 5400rpm 7200rpm HDD, and that is completely true: SSD's are faster at booting, loading, and saving, and we're not talking a *little/tiny bit* faster, they're more faster.

There's been speculation that Scorpio from the visual footage released, may have what looks like 12x1GB GDDR5 memory modules. It will have 320GB/s bandwidth. It may likely use an AMD CPU but Microsoft hasn't revealed much about it. But from that video, AMD
Ryzen has a CPU clock speed of 3-4Ghz and 8 cores 16 threads and maybe up to 20MB cache. Which may even compete with Intel's higher end line up of 6th and 7th gen and amongst the latest CPU's. And yes! A LOT of people talk about specs and may be at least somewhat
interested in specs. What does the big picture at the start of thread show? hardware. So a lot of people will want to know more specs detail about Scorpio.

Will people buy Scorpio? I'm considering it. But at what price will Microsoft want to charge for it? That's another thing those eager about Scorpio. That way gamers can decide whether to get it, or spend the same amount on a custom PC which can outperform
Scorpio. And Xbox 1 already has Xbox Play Anywhere, so you can play several Xbox 1 titles on your high end custom PC. I went to the midnight launch of Xbox 1. But I don't think I'll stay up for Sunday 2pm PDT time I wouldn't have a clue what time that would
be in Australian or NZ time, I would have to put forth the effort to go ask my phone or Google it to find the time difference. I know the UK is roughly 12 hours behind NZ time and the US is roughly about 16 hours behind NZ time. But I know when NZ and Australian
peeps get home from school or work, Americans it's their bed time or they should be asleep, but they're still up lol. Yes there's some night owls, one of my friends mentioned that in one of her YouTube videos. But they're the ones who will wake up and go to
school or work feeling like a zombie. I sometimes do that to stay up later than is healthy for me, particularly sometimes on weekends. It also depends on how secure Microsoft can keep that information, stuff not yet officially announced for Scorpio, especially
with leaks etc and then like some YouTube videos go up with 50,000+ views discussing about the leak, and everyone gets spoiler alert.

SSDs do boot the system quicker smileskybird but for gaming it isn't that important. Most games don't load directly from the hard drive of a machine but into your system RAM first, this is why PC builds tend to have a SSD boot drive and a traditional hard
drive for games to be installed on. Plus they are damn expensive and would push the price of the Scorpio up even further.

You don't have to sell me on the benefits of SSDs, I have two in my PC, but as I said they are little to no benefit for gaming.

Eer,E3 discussion, not ruddy pc specs etc, etc. that no one gives a fig about.
But this is directly relevant because it's a good chance that the Scorpio specs will be announced. If hardware were not important then we'd all still be happily gaming away on the Nintendo Entertainment System.

What else about the Scorpio would you like to discuss? What do you expect them to reveal at E3 except the specs. They've already said that all the games are going to work on the One and the Scorpio, so what is left but the hardware?

Please don't try and kill a conversation just because you don't like the topic.

Nevertheless, an SSD is noticeably significantly faster with booting, loading and saving, than an HDD. An SSD also has no moving parts like an HDD. You could argue the GPU planned for Scorpio is too expensive for console buyers. Watch this video and see
the difference between SSD and HDD. SSD might have a shorter life span than HDD, but top brands come with longer warranties. One company in NZ sells a 1TB Samsung EVO 850 SSD (which Samsung offers a 5 year warranty on, remember Microsoft only offers a 12 month
warranty on Xbox 1 consoles as standard) for NZ$494 and when you convert that into US/UK currency. It looks like Microsoft may be going all it with this console. Microsoft isn't going to price it so that it can be affordable for everyone. Or perhaps they can
have replaceable storage units like with Xbox 360. Or SATA3 or something HDD/SD Bay where users can put in their choice of storage like with the competition console. PC gamers know that HDD is too slow for what is 2017. No point in putting 2005 5400rpm or
7200rpm storage tech in a high end console for 2017.

Um, Sunday isn't a business day. Monday to Friday only, are. Microsoft must LOVE working weekends.

It will be interesting for them to reveal the specs of Xbox Scorpio. But with Xbox Play Anywhere, you can play games on any Windows 10 PC. Custom gaming PC's which will still beat Scorpio's specs. And having a high end PC, Xbox 1, and Xbox Play Anywhere,
voids the need to fork out hundreds on Xbox Scorpio. An AMD R9 390 has a bandwidth of 384GB/s. And Intel Core i7-6700k has a fast clock speed of 4.2Ghz (and that's without overclocking) and is a high end desktop CPU. An 5400rpm or 7200rpm HDD is much slower
    than an SSD.

There are people who love consoles, people who prefer PC, ..... and people who like both PC and Xbox which includes me. It will also be interesting how much Microsoft is going to charge for this piece of hardware too, and if it's really worth it compared
with the amount of money you could spend in comparison for a PC with better performance. But this is good news for people who like Xbox. Cuz when it releases, it will thrash the competition console company, until they come out with something better.

What Xbox Scorpio needs is a high clocked CPU, an SSD which can boot up a PC in only 8 seconds compared with up to 2-3 minutes with conventional 7200rpm HDD's and can save and load a lot quicker than an HDD at that, too.
