Microsoft to offer Xbox One trade-up program for Project Scorpio

Microsoft wants to make the transition from Xbox One to Project Scorpio as seamless and easy as possible with a trade-in/trade-up program.

Xbox Scorpio will thrash PS4 Pro definitely! in terms of specs bandwidth etc. It will have:

- 12GB GDDR5 memory (not DDR3 with it's slow 68GB/s bandwidth, not a mere 8GB, and 8GB of that 12GB of memory will be dedicated, to games).

- GDDR5 326GB/s bandwidth

- 2.3Ghz 8 physical core, CPU/APU (PS4 Pro's CPU is only clocked at 2.13Ghz lol).

- Better vapor/air cooling

- Specs released from IGN reviews indicate it WON'T be fatter than the original Xbox console.

So yes, it's gonna be the best and most powerful video gaming console, when it comes it. Might I mention that it will have 4k Blu-ray too? PS4 Pro doesn't yet Sony owns Blu-ray. They must be giving Microsoft preferential treatment.

It will give us Xbox peeps the opportunity to gloat for once, that Xbox is better than PS. And it will be judging from the specs.

 

It will also release around November too, since Xbox 360 and Xbox 1 launched in November. It will have a good estimated price of US$599. PS4 Pro Sony RRP's the price in NZ for NZ$648. And there isn't much in terms of hardware components pricing to warrant
Xbox Scorpio being any more expensive than US$599 so expect it to cost $899 at worst!, in Australia and New Zealand. NZ$1 = AU$0.97 and it's been like that for the past 2 years. Use Google currency convertor to evaluate the currency conversions for different
countries.

 

It's not always best technology that win the race - look how VHS won over Philips Video2000 system and I believe another too that were better.

Video 2000 looked better than VHS, and you could also turn the tape over and use other half of tape.

Is it already 3 PS4 sold on 1 X1 console untill Scorpio is released?

It's even possible some games will not be released on Xbox, since too few are sold making it worth the trouble.

So Xbox goes for BC, and to be able to play old games from 10 years ago.

Not saying it's likely publishers abandon Xbox, just possible that smaller studios don't bother having resources for one console platform only.

May just go for PS4 Pro unless Scorpio really seems like an exclusive unit to own. Hiring the best developers for interface, not the rookie ones now on X1, still introducing some really strange options.

 

We'll most likely get all of that I do at E3 in June. You can pre-order now from various retailers. I've already paid a good chunk of it at a local Gamestop.
