Microsoft Mahjong Daily Challenges

I have been playing Microsoft Mahjong for some time now with no problems. This morning December 27, 2014 I am unable to open the game. I have uninstalled the game and reinstalled it but to no avail. Is there something that I can do differently?

Mahjong Daily Challenge

I cannot log in to Mahjong Daily Challenge today. Keep getting the 1170000 error code. Have followed directions, even rebooting computer. Other game daily Challenges work fine. What is wrong with the Mahjong Daily Challenges.

 

Daily Challenges not downloading

Update to this thread. Now, I'm also unable to access Daily Challenges in Microsoft Mahjong. The error message was:

There was a problem downloading Daily Challenge data. Please refer to error code: 016000

Let's first make certain that there aren't any missing or failed updates. Please try the following steps to make certain that everything is up to date:

1. Press the Windows key

2. Type in Windows Update

3. Under the search bar you see on the right, choose Check for Updates

4. In the Windows Update screen, press the Check Now button

5. Even if it doesn't seem to find any updates, click on View Details

6. Install any updates you see that haven't been installed- including optional ones

7. Restart using the restart option from the shutdown menu.

Then please try these steps:

1. Press Windows Key + R

2. In the box, type wsreset.exe and press Enter

3. This will re-launch the Windows Store

4. Hover over the right-hand side to bring up the charm bar

5. Choose Settings

6. Choose App Updates

7. Choose Sync licenses

If you find that you are completely up to date, then please run this tool to fix any possible errors in the system registry:
go.microsoft.com

Please let me know if these steps do not get you back into the game.
