Microsoft losing a huge amount of money on xbox one in Canada?

I just realized they must be losing big time in money right now. The xbox one is still 350$ here and there only making 274$ per console sold in Canada and thats on top of fact its prob not even profitable at 350 US $'s.

Xbox Live Should be Free

Who the hell would buy Gold if online play was free? No-one that's who. Making the ability to play online free would cost Microsoft a huge amount of money and Windows 8 to the contrary, they don't like doing that.

 

Time to jump ship

Ive pre ordered my xbox one but for me all of this about pre owned games and stuff is just wrong, microsoft are just bending over and letting sony do them if they let all of this happen. comon microsoft listen to your customers!! or the amount of xbox one's
that will get modded will be HUGE, then how much money will you lose.

 

They are making money.... at least they didn't pull the Sony stunt and raise there price because the Canadian economy is much stronger then most.... Sony raised the PS$ $50 for there loyal Canadian customers.....

 

Don't really care if they're making money as long as they stay in business and their doing well enough that they won't be going anywhere for a long time

 

And why do we care if they make money.... it is irrelevant to all of us gamers.

 

It matters if you want them to continue to make games and consoles.

 

As I said they may be losing money but they're nowhere near going out of business

 

Whats with the threads about how much money the xbox makes/looses today? First Electros thread and now this one. Has ms suddenly lost all its billions overnight.

 

Im sure if the PS4 wasn't selling well in Canada then the price would drop, duh

 

Even if the X1 were to sell for $1.00 US, they'll turn a profit.

 

Still better than the FailStation Done (aka PlayStation 4) though.

It's true, if someone is on the Internet, they know everything.

 

Like the above poster said. So long as Xbox stays in the console race then I will be happy. Having loads of console sales is really nice. But that really doesn't make you the winner of a console war/race. No one acknowledges Wii as the 7th Gen winner.
Xbox 360 was for several reasons.

While they are selling Xbox One for cheap. I believe (from past generations) that 25 million consoles sold is the magic number. Once Xbox One eclipses that, I will be happy. And we are guesstimated at 12 million.

Xbox is a fantastic gaming brand with the exclusive titles that I enjoy and want. Not to mention the premier online community in Xbox Live.

 

I think every gamer on the planet recognizes the Wii's success.

Sales not so great? Price is going to go down, this is a good thing for the XB community. I have to say, in the beginning things looked a bit sketchy, now with price cuts and no Kinect I feel the XB1 is a safe and solid buy. Look at Sony's Vita, great hand
held but can't get anywhere near as many sales as the 3DS, it's now as cheap as anything, it still won't hit the quota sony are after. @NxtDoc1851 - I agree with your thoughts on the XB brand, I feel that the dust has settled and that we only have a couple
