    Microsoft keep taking money from me.


    I have had a terrible problem with Microsoft repeatedly taking money from me. There are 2 XBox accounts in our family, one for my son and one for my stepson. I have found that when I have linked either my credit card, or worse still my PayPal account,
    to one of these accounts, cancelling payment authorisations afterwards does not appear to have any lasting effect.

    Tonight, my son's xBox live account expired, and he has managed to reactivate it for a year at a cost of £39.99 via my PayPal account that I
    once linked to his Xbox Live account. The thing is, I have cancelled this a month or so ago, or thought I had. I'm not a beginner when it comes to computers, but Microsoft have made it so bløødy hard to either
    cancel or anything or find out how to do so, that what they are doing is amounting to theft. It's not at all transparent, and is so hard to find.

    I've tried again tonight to log on to Xbox One Support | Xbox 360 Support | Xbox Live and Billing Support but when I try to log in, it just keeps me going round in circles repeatedly asking me for
    my log in credentials. When I have tried to cancel before, I've either been successful (or thought I had) or I have been told that I cannot cancel a payment method without first replacing it with an alternative payment method. What rubbish!! This is theft
    and extortion.

    Has anyone else had similar problems, and if so what did you do about it? Tonight I've finished up having to go into my Paypal account, where I've found payment authorisations for Microsoft (from previous purchases - both authorised and unauthorised by
    me) and I've cancelled them and changed my password in a final, forlorn hope that I can prevent myself being robbed yet again by Microsoft.

    Any help or advice would be gratefully received.

    i recently pre ordered bo4 and i had canceled it once and pre orded it again and they had taken out 83.99 twice then 70 for no reason. whats going on ?

    on the Microsoft account to see where the charges are coming from, if that doesn't resolve the issue try

    Sorry to hear it. The big issue here is that it seems as though, even though you cancelled the auto renewal, the paypal account was still attached to your son's gamertag. He specifically went in and renewed the membership himself. It didn't auto renew
    on its own.

    What you'll need to do is contact phone support and ask that the membership be cancelled, you get a refund of the money and then have them remove the paypal account from your son's gamertag. That should prevent him from purchasing in the future.

    In the UK you can dial 020 7365 9792 or 0800 587 1102

    Finally, you should also be able to log in at the following link to adjust your son's settings as to what he can and cannot do online. account.xbox.com/Settings

    Thank you for the advice. I find that trying to anything online that involves limiting the amount of cash leaking from my account to Microsoft's coffers is next to impossible....... but I will use the phone numbers you provided. Thank you again.

    Well......I guess Microsoft doesn't care about their customers. Make it easy to take their money, but difficult to give it back. I guess they can keep the money they stole from me. They just lost a customer though. Not that they care.
