Microsoft just stole my debit card information!!!!

I got a new card that I purposely did not put on my Xbox and suddenly it's there and they charged me for live! Is that even legal? How in the hell did they get my information that I know for a fact I kept off because I looked last night and it was my old
inactive card?????!!!!! I'm so done with Xbox at this point. PlayStation 4 doesn't pull this crap

I would highly suggest not adding any of your credit/debit info to your account. With all these people having their accounts stolen(myself being one) it just makes it incredibly easy for the person that stole it to spend money for dlc on their system. I
personally had them spend $125 out of my account because I foolishly had my debit card info on my console. Never again will I tie any type of card to my console.

 

It's possible your bank kept your old account number open for some time, specifically so automated payments like your Xbox Live subscription that you didn't update the information for wouldn't fail. Contact your bank to see if that is the case.

Also, you might consider contacting Xbox Support if you didn't want the subscription to renew. They might be able to help with a refund. support.xbox.com/contact-us

 

I don't think Microsoft or any other company has access to your credit card information unless you supply it.

Banks DO NOT provide customer information to companies. No only is in unethical but it is highly illegal.

 

They don't.There is no way for Microsoft to get your credit/debit card info unless someone supplies it to them.

 

Obviously that's not right because they did. My entire card information was on my account and I know for a fact I didn't put it there. Nobody else has access to my account or my card. Somehow they got my card information and used it to pay off live. There
is absolutely no excuse or reason they should have gotten it. Don't try to play me for some idiot who is just going to put up card information and not know I did it.

I checked last night and my old card was still on the account so I left it and went to sleep. I woke up this morning to see my account overdrawn by Xbox live wondering how and I look and suddenly see my card information is on my account. I cancelled Xbox
live and removed my card but now I'm overdrawn and now I have to figure out what to do

 

Nope you will just have to contact your bank and deal with whoever had access to your console

And no ms isn't mind readers

Bank will tell you upfront no one but you and anyone who had access to the card will get the info

That's why they provisioned it to you

And besides event if ms got it read from your magical wallet FYI if you used paypal you do know they update your info for you right ?

They still need the security code which is only on the card itself you have an issue with someone with access to your wallet

Not to mention it's highly illegal for a bank to pass that info on

And you do not give enough info for a credit check anywyss or your work info

 

If you had disabled auto-renew like you're supposed to when you no longer wish to pay, then you wouldn't have been charged. It's always someone else's fault I guess.

 

First off I don't use PayPal but good try though.

Second auto renewal has been cancelled for months now. I haven't used my old card since March in looking at my bank statements. I'm contacting Microsoft and I'm contacting my bank but there's no reason this should've happened to begin with

 

If you didn't have autorenewal on then there is your problem

Someone renewed it using your card for you

Autorenewal won't return back on unless you make a purchase

Again talk to your bank and whoever is in your family who has access to your card

Ms will refund theoney if more then a month but again your issue is your got an insecure wallet

 

No one not even your bank can hand over enough information to add a card

The physical card has the security code which your bank doesn't even know let alone ms

 

My issue is not an insecure wallet so stop trying to act like thats always my problem. I HAVE MY WALLET ON ME AT ALL TIMES. IM NOT AN IDIOT WHO LEAVES THEIR WALLET LYING AROUND FOR FAMILY MEMBERS TO TOUCH. MY WALLET WAS ON ME THE WHOLE TIME WHEN IT HAPPENED,
NOBODY HAS ACCESS TO MY CARD, NOBODY HAS MY CREDIT CARD INFORMATION, OBVIOUSLY IT WAS MICROSOFT WHO MANAGED TO GET IT SOMEHOW WHEN NOBODY WAS ON MY ACCOUNT EXCEPT FOR ME AND NOBODY HAD MY CARD INFORMATION AND I NEVER MADE A PURCHASE WITH MY NEW CARD BECAUSE
I DIDN'T WANT IT CHARGED.

You people are the worst in this community. I'm not a moron stop acting like i'm 6 years old. I know what i'm doing and I know whats going on. This is not anyone besides microsoft.

 

Ms is not your bank nor will they ever be nor do they ever do creditcheck you are either trolling or you are blaming

Noone but you and whoever has physical access to your card can enter the information only on the card

 

Your security key is only available on tour physical card a bank will never reissue the same card maybe your creditcard but not your bank card

It's illegal not to mention you can ask your bank who has accwss

They will tell you noone but you and the persons who have physical access to the card

The bank only asks for the code to verify but they don't know the code they enter it and the computer says yes or no

It is physically impossible over the net to get a card info
