    Microsoft Jigsaw - Cannot download game content


    Windows 10 Pro

    In my start menu, the icons indicate that my Windows 8 Microsoft games are not completed downloading. Microsoft Jigsaw (w/ Premium), Microsoft Mahjong, Microsoft Minesweeper, and Microsoft Treasure Hunt have partially filled green progress bars on their
    icons. Microsoft Solitaire Collection (the only of the classic Windows games to have a Windows 10 upgrade, thus far) shows a normal icon. Despite this, only Microsoft Jigsaw seems to have a content issue.

    In Microsoft Jigsaw, I cannot download Daily Challenge puzzles or Puzzle Packs. For the Daily Challenges, I get the spinning dots animation, but the downloads never resolve. When trying to download Classic Puzzle Packs or Jammer Puzzle Packs, the app simply
    closes.

    I have tried many "fixes" found in the Microsoft forums, and other parts of the Xbox forums, none have made any difference. This includes uninstalling and reinstalling the app, clearing the Windows Store cache, uninstalling ALL of the game apps (including
    the Xbox app) and reinstalling, and checking to make sure that all Windows Updates and drivers are current, and verifying that my Microsoft/Xbox account works everywhere.

    Notably, this started at the end of September, with no obvious changes to the PC that might have caused it, though I believe there was a Windows Security update at that time, which I have uninstalled and reinstalled, to no effect.

    Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

    Well really, cannot download Microsoft Jigsaw and I have amassed a fortune. Not good enough.

    Why won't Microsoft Jigsaw download?

    For the past week either portions or all of Microsoft Jigsaw will not download. I purchased two new puzzles and cannot download those either.

    I can't edit my original post. You can ignore the entire first paragraph. What looked like the progress bars from Windows 8 are actually little tiny Xbox banners.

  10. I have dropped the premium content for this game due to the inability to access any new collections. I would love to continue enjoying more than just the daily challenges on this game. If anyone has any help for this I would be grateful, I sure hate to have
    to consider getting a jigsaw game through another vendor.

    This is long since passed into the realm of the ridiculous.

    The support link in the app points to a page that doesn't exist.

    All other attempts to obtain support point a customer to these forums.

    After almost 2 months, it is clear that this is ALSO not the proper source for support, if there actually is one.

    Moderators, for f***s sake:

    • acknowledge the issue
    • point us in the CORRECT direction to obtain support
    • provide a link to a thread where this is actually ADDRESSED
    • Something?
    • Anything?

    How much hard drive space to you have available on your machine? If it's low this will prevent the game to download content. Also another trick is to launch the game without an internet connection and see if the game works, you won't be able to access Daily
    Challenges or get new collections, but it should hopefully fix the issue your seeing with the game not loading.

    @Pieyow - Thank you for trying to help. I have over 600 GB free on my primary drive. The game was functional even with an active internet connection. It would only "crash" after trying to access external content.

    After 75 days, this Tuesday's OS upgrade took care of it. It fixed most of the notable issues I'd seen since upgrading to Windows 10, including the standing issues with Edge and Cortana.

    So the upshot of this is: I'm answering my own support request. I hope this resolves the issue for anyone else that has been frustrated by this for months.

    FIX SUMMARY: This issue was corrected by 01/06/2015 Windows Updates.

    Make sure you have plenty of free hard drive space on your machine, also try disabling any apps running in memory that could be interfering with data being sent to the game (Firewall software, anti-virus, etc..).

    This constant spinning animations is the game attempting to download data which it's being blocked from doing.

    I hope this helps, also if your on WIFI, you may want to try a hard line connection or another WIFI hotspot.
